Braylin was one of the top players in the building regardless of class. She finished with 12 points in the middle school game, showing her range from beyond the arc along with the ability to attack the basket and finish. She was just as impressive on the defensive end, covering a lot of ground and hawking the ball handler with constant pressure. Braylin played with confidence on both ends of the floor and never looked out of place against the older competition. Her two-way ability and overall feel for the game made her one of the more impressive players I watched throughout the showcase.

Braylin had already established herself as one of the most dominant middle school players in the region, but DMV Live proved she is more than ready for the varsity stage. She sees the game at a different speed than her peers, processing plays before they develop and displaying outstanding court awareness with the ball in her hands. A true three-level scorer, she can hurt defenses from the perimeter, in the mid-range, and at the rim while also possessing the vision and unselfishness to create easy opportunities for her teammates. Her all-around skill set has positioned her to step in as a day-one varsity starter and was more than enough to propel her to the No. 2 spot in the latest rankings.

Braylin showcased why she’s considered one of the top rising freshmen in the Class of 2030 with an outstanding performance, averaging 12.5 points per game. A super shifty guard with an elite handle, she consistently broke down defenders off the dribble and created scoring opportunities with ease. Her feel for the game and overall skill set are well beyond her years, making her one of the premier prospects in her class. Braylin’s future is incredibly bright, and she projects as a player who will make a significant impact for years to come. She has all the tools to develop into a high-major prospect and future star.

Braylin play like a veteran for McDonogh. Offensively she had some full court transition finishes that she made with contact, some nice pull up jumpers in the lane and showed the handle to navigate through traffic and get to the rim. She kept her eye up spotting teammates drifting open for the pass. She averaged over 12 points per game in her two games.

Braylin showed relentless effort on defense as she lead the second half surge. On two of three possessions she came up with two steals, a saved ball in front of scouts, then a fast break and-one finish sliding in front of another set of college coaches, lastly a steal with a lead pass which lead to her grabbing the offensive rebound.

Braylin is an advanced freshman playing up on the UAA 17U level. She is not just a contributor by she is the key cog at point guard. She shot the three well and with confidence and got to the basket with ease, finishing at the rim or with the floater. She moves fluidly on the court and is clearly one of the top players in her class.

This rising freshman isn’t just competing—she’s leading on a 17U squad. Over the weekend, she clearly defined her role by allowing the offense to develop, confidently calling for the high pick-and-roll and reading the defense with the option to score or facilitate. In the first five minutes of her opening game, she made her presence felt with two rebounds, an assist, a block, a smooth step-back mid-range jumper, and an aggressive drive that earned her a trip to the free-throw line. Expect Braylin to use this summer as her introduction to the high school stage.
