As we head into the final weekend of the grassroots season, it's the perfect time to look back at a summer filled with standout performances. From team camps, shoot outs, showcases to the NCAA Live Period, players across Florida took advantage of every opportunity to elevate their games. Over the past several months, these are a few of the prospects who caught my eye the most. This article isn't all about the best performances, but rather a recognition of prospects who stood out at camps, showcases, and live events throughout the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249017' first='Angelina' last='Laudicina'] showcased the versatility of her game at the UNF Osprey Team Camp, displaying the ability to stretch the defense with her perimeter shooting while also attacking the basket off the dribble. Her offensive skill set forced defenders to respect her at every level of the floor. What stood out most, however, was the young forward's willingness to embrace a more physical style of play. Laudicina consistently mixed it up in the paint, finishing around the basket, competing on the glass, and showing a determination to score in a variety of ways. The same was true at the FABC showcase, as the young forward continued to expand her game in the paint. The added dimension made her even more difficult to defend. She continues to be one of the most intriguing prospects in Florida's 2027 class because of her combination of size, versatility, and skill. She is an elite young talent who has expanded her game, and that continued development has only raised her stock.

[player_tooltip player_id='727591' first='Jaiden' last='Peterson'] was cooking at the UNF Osprey Team Camp this summer and at the FABC showcase. She put together one impressive performance after another. She attacked the rim with confidence, knocked down perimeter shots, and consistently created quality opportunities for a talented roster that looks like a serious State champion contender. With the ball in her hands, Peterson was firmly in control and embraced the responsibility of running the offense and keeping her teammates involved. Her speed and ability to apply defensive pressure immediately caught the eye, but it was her decision-making and selfless play that truly separated her. Peterson played with poise and maturity beyond her years, making the right reads at the right time. Peterson is the catalyst and she'll be a major reason her team has an opportunity to make a deep postseason run next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1268021' first='Breanna' last='Smith'] made a strong impression at the UNF Osprey Team Camp before following it up with another outstanding performance at the FABC Showcase in Gainesville. Throughout the summer, Smith established herself as a consistent scorer on the block and in the paint. She also demonstrated a reliable mid-range game shot that kept defenders off balance. Smith is no statue on the floor. She consistently gets out on the break and scores, and that separates her from many at the power forward position. Smith was a summer standout and shows no sign of stopping there. Smith is really developing . She will be a force, and the fall and winter will witness a significant change in her game. She has the tools to be one of the top power forwards on the First Coast.

[player_tooltip player_id='1867066' first='Bella' last='Carbert'] burst onto the scene and has been one of the biggest surprises of the summer, especially her skill level for a sophomore. Carbert can handle the ball with confidence and has an array of moves to gain the advantage over a defender. Carbert can attack from either side, she is shifty, and can score in a variety ways: the floater, the layup, and the pull-up in the paint. Her athleticism stands out, and she definitely utilizes it with her speed and explosiveness. The young guard has been dynamic and the summer owes her a great deal of gratitude. Hold the applause- there is more summer ball to be played.

Mallory was one of the biggest standouts of the summer, putting together impressive performances that showcased the complete package. At the Wildcat Shootout, she displayed her ability to score at all three levels, knocking down shots from beyond the arc, creating offense in the mid-range, and finishing around the basket. Her impact wasn't just on the offensive end. Mallory was equally effective on defense, hitting the glass, protecting the rim, and consistently altering or blocking shots. Her ability to block shots in the paint was attributed to her size and strength. Mallory has the size and agility to play the 2,3, or 4. She has versatility on both ends of the floor and can affect the game in so many different ways. She was one of the most complete and impressive performers of the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1003136' first='Skylar' last='Wilson'] showcased both her skill set and her poise under pressure throughout the summer. Having completed just one year at the varsity level, her growth was very noticeable especially in her decision-making. Wilson consistently made the right reads and played with the confidence and maturity. She was good at penetrating zone defenses, collapsing the defense before finding open shooters along the perimeter. While her ability to create for teammates stood out, Wilson also demonstrated that she could knock down the three-point shot when defenders gave her space. Her combination of scoring, playmaking, and perimeter shooting made her a true triple-threat. Now adding the playmaking to her game, Wilson showed over the summer that the winter will be long for opposing guards. She has the ability to shut guards down and control the tempo on the offensive side of the ball.

j
