If we are looking at total makes and FG% from distance, Quinn Pershing returns this Winter as the most consistent 3 point shooting threat within the 3A Class. Pershing is one of those that you can't help off of defensively. Last season opposing team's didn't seem to understand that concept and it left her WIDE open for a bunch of buckets. It's one thing to be open, you still have to be able to make those shots if you are going to lead an entire Class within a single State and that's what we have going on here. We have highlighted Pershing's ability to knock down buckets off the catch before. She has a shot that always looks the exact same whenever she lets it go and it goes into the hoop a good amount of the time - no matter if she is pressured or not on the attempt. As a Sophomore QP hit long range shots at a 44% rate while knocking down 77/175 in totality. If she can replicate that once again this season for her Junior year, she should lead the 3A Class once again.

Anna Timmons from Assumption High School is the type that could compete at the college level. She possesses size, athletic ability, knowledge of the game for the Forward position, and she can spread the floor as a three level scoring threat. Half of Timmons attempts last season came from behind the three point line. She took 192 total shots. Of the 192 shots, she finished 42/100 from deep. That's solid from a percentage standpoint. Most of these attempts came off of the catch but she wasn't afraid to step up to hit a three with a dribble or two to get settled either. It all depends on how the defense decides to defend her. Their team went 14-9 as a whole and this Winter they are going to add to their returning lineup with a talented Freshman or two so they will have a chance to do even better this time around if Timmons returns with confidence.

Another hooper that knows how to put together a tough game-plan is Morgyn Bender of Mid-Prairie. Bender, the 5'11 SF, is more of a CG. She can attack from the outside off the bounce, she can screen and set up shots from the midrange, she can finish over weaker defenders, and she can go get an O-board while finishing the play with a put-back. She is VERY comfortable switching it up, keeping the defense guessing. As soon as she see's that you are going to fall for one of her fakes one direction, she is gone the other way but she is also smart enough to keep it simple whenever she can. That's why she isn't afraid to shoot if you back off. I'm looking for a big season again for Bender for her Senior year. She led their group in most positive statistical categories as a Junior and I could see the same thing happening this season as well.

You could say that Riley Meyer is an overall artist on the offensive end, even though she knows how to get hot from deep in a hurry. Meyer is that quick Guard, that most can't stick in-front of. Whenever she breaks through the first layer of the defense, she is accurate at finishing through contact or she can hit open teammates within a small window. She is good at getting down hill and that helps her create space to shoot from three point land. Defenses have to take a step off to account of her speed and it kills them when she steps back to knock down a jumper.

I was very impressed with Taylor Sanchez last Winter whenever I saw her compete live. Each time it's like she couldn't miss from deep. She was playing the SG position to a T, hitting shots from 3-4 feet behind the three point line off of the catch. This would usually happen at the Wing or in the Corner, depending on what the team's offense was doing around her. Whenever a zone look was thrown her way - she would set the nets on fire and get the crowd going, especially at home against highly rated opponents. Sanchez is going to be tasked with hitting several more shots this Winter. She proved that she could do it last season so now she needs to follow that up with another memorable season to finish out her high school career.
