To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover five individuals out of this 2028 Class in Iowa, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.

Samantha Dorrity moves into the 11th rated spot within this Player Rankings Update as we move into the Junior season for the 2028 Class. We had a chance to see Dorrity earlier this month at our PGH Showcase in DSM and she showed off to everyone watching that she is definitely a D2 level prospect at this time. She was killing every matchup thrown her way on both offense and defense. Which was impressive when you consider the best Forward defender out of the entire 2029 Class was one of those matchups. It didn't matter though. Dorrity demonstrated that she has a bag full of counter moves on offense, as well as a strong, main finishing move on both sides of the basket when she has a mismatch. Defensively, it's safe to say that she is just as good. I'm very excited to see how she does at CR-Xavier this Winter. She will have one of the states best 2030 prospects by her side so if those two can click - this might be a group we are talking about in DSM at the start of 2027 at the State Tournament.

There is a ton of promise and untapped potential within Victoria Bupro and what she brings to this game. Burpo, the 6'1 PF, is one of those hoopers that is hard to move once she gets to her spots because of her mixture of height and muscle mass. Not to mention, she has a soft touch on the ball, she loves physicality, she in coordinated, and she understands the game when it comes to the X's and O's. In this Update V.B. moves into the Top 15 within this Class at #13. That's a respectable position at this time for someone that could end up as a D1 hooper but I'm sure that won't satisfy Burpo. She is going to keep doing her thing and that should help Waukee NW to a 5A State Title this Winter if they play their cards right.

It's a major Winter season ahead for Alaina Dreckmeier within her individual journey on the hardwood. Dreckmeier is someone that lives on the Iowa-Illinois boarder. She competes for an Iowa High School but during AAU season she actually plays out of Chicago at Example Academy on one of their top teams. Every time that I've been in the gym to spectate Dreckmeier she has been a standout for her team on both offense and defense. She is either lighting up the basket while making a ton of shots or she is dishing out crafty assists to those placed around her. Defensively - she has active hands and feet, which lead to several tips/deflections/steals. In this Update Dreckmeier moves into the Top 20 with some more room to move up on this list as we move forward if she can start off her Junior season of Varsity ball with a bang.

This is going to be one of those seasons that we find out some things about some of the prospects on Hinton's team, now that they graduated several of their main contributors from year's past. One of those prospects will be Raelyn Kempema at the C/PF position. Kempema is a 6'1 prospect, that truly understands her role. She mainly sticks inside the lane so that she can control all the traffic that is going in and out of the paint. The #34 spot is where Kempema moves up in this Update but notice that she is the #1 rated C/PF out of this Class. If she works hard enough and is motivated - she could be a collegiate hooper at the end of the day. I'm not sure who she has been in touch with yet but if I'm a coach from the Midwest, I'd start making some calls before it's too late.

We should fully expect to see Addison Mauer as Treynor's top dawg this Winter at the Varsity level. Mauer averaged 11.5 PPG on 49.9% shooting from the field last Winter as a Junior. With both of the Seniors ahead of her gone due to graduation, it sets up for Mauer to be their leader on the offensive end of the next two years while guiding everyone around her by example. She is going to have to step up and continue to play solid defense to stay on the floor but as a whole - this is someone who is going to put up some numbers this Winter if she has anything to say about it. That being said - she moves up to spot #42 in this Update.
