Class of 2023 – Unbeatable Starting Lineup
Now we will do the same thing for a loaded class of 2022. These 5 “starters” could, at the very least, hold there own against any similar 5 across the country.
PG – Mya Petticord Mya Petticord 5'9" | PG Arbor Prep | 2022 State #33 Nation MI (PG, Arbor Prep)
You have to have one of the top 10 point guards in the country in the lineup. She’s a true playmaker and floor leader.
SG – Theryn Hallock Theryn Hallock 5'9" | SG Forest Hills Central | 2022 State #71 Nation MI (SG, Forest Hills Central)
Hallock would be a great backcourt mate for Petticord. She’s another top 100 prospect in this group of 5.
SG – Ruby Whitehorn Ruby Whitehorn 6'0" | PG Detroit Edison | 2022 State #20 Nation MI (SG, Detroit Edison)
Whitehorn is an elite prospect nationally, and top 15 in the country in my opinion. In a lineup full of stars, she might be the go to scorer.
SF – Rakiyah Beal Rakiyah Beal 5'11" | SF Hamtramck | 2022 State #69 Nation MI (SF, Detroit Edison)
Beal is about to really break out, and pretty much everyone sees it coming. She’s an elite athlete and it looks like it’s all coming together for her.
C – Alecsis Smith Alecsis Smith 6'2" | C Bay City Central | 2022 State MI (C, Bay City Central)
Smith would be a perfect post player in this lineup. She’d clean up inside and make sure their opponent is limited to 1 shot per possession.
Now I’ll give you a second team based on the same criteria. This lineup, much like the first, would be competitive against any similarly based lineup nationwide.
PG – Lexus Bargesser Lexus Bargesser 5'8" | PG Grass Lake | 2022 State MI (PG, Grass Lake)
Bargesser has been one of the hottest commodities in the midwest this summer. And for good reason, because she has been lights out.
PG – Abbey Kimball Abbey Kimball 5'10" | PG Grand Rapids West Catholic | 2022 State #63 Nation MI (PG, Grand Rapids West Catholic)
Kimball and Bargesser in the backcourt would be fun to watch. The scoring and distributing from both of them would be worth the price of admission.
CG – Allie Carlson Allie Carlson CG East Grand Rapids | 2022 State MI (CG, East Grand Rapids)
I chose Carlson, but you could insert Jaci Tubergen Jaci Tubergen SG Hudsonville | 2022 State MI or Avery Zeinstra Avery Zeinstra 5'7" | PG Byron Center | 2022 State MI here as well. I just liked the way Carlson’s game would mesh with Bargesser and Kimball. She scores at a high percentage and can play on or off the ball.
PF – Madisen Wardell Madisen Wardell 6'0" | PF Detroit Edison | 2022 State MI (PF, Detroit Edison)
Wardell is so underrated and I’ll scream in from a mountain top until everyone hears. Her length, defensive prowess, and ability to score facing the bucket makes her a big time asset.
PF – Sarah Sylvester Sarah Sylvester 6'2" | PF Birmingham Marian | 2022 State MI (PF, Birmingham Marian)
I’d love to see Sylvester and Wardell team up. Sylvester would provide multi level scoring and versatility to the front court.
