Zoey Ward Zoey Ward 5'11" | CG Concord Academy | 2023 State NC : The 6’0 power forward from Concord Academy has had a strong season thus far. Scoring in double-digits in every contest but 2, she is averaging over 15 points. She put on an impressive showing in a career high 38 point, 10 rebound, 5 from 7 for 3, win to start off the new year. She has good handles for her size, gets into the paint easily, moves well without the ball, a bit of a streaky 3 point shooter, but watch out if she gets hot in a game. If she is on then she is on from 3 point land. She is a player to keep your eyes on.
Janiah Shular: The 5’8 guard from Gaston Day is a long and athletic player. A stat sheet stuffer, she can score it, rebound it, and steal it from the opposing team. Another sophomore with a 30 piece under her belt already, she tallied herself a triple-double to start off this new year with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 steals in a win. She really is an athletic player who finds ways to get in the paint and score or get to the free-throw line. Defensively she makes things happen. She causes turnovers, deflects passes, guards the other teams best players, she does whatever she can to help make her team go. She is a player to keep your eyes on.
Neiel Young: The 5’7 guard from Westminster Catawba Christian high school is a tough player. Another great defensive player in this group, averaging over 4 steals per game, and stealing 7+ on at least 4 occasions. She capitalizes on her steals as well, fast breaks, and able to pass ahead to any teammates running the floor. She gets most of her points getting in the paint and to the free-throw line. She is a player to keep your eyes on.
McKenzie Taylor: The 5’4 guard from Concord Academy has been able to put up solid scoring efforts thus far this season. She has put up multiple double-digit games, gone on hot streaks from 3 point land, and shoots it well when she gets to the line. With 2 more full seasons ahead of her she will keep getting more consistent with her scoring capabilities. Yet again another decent defender as well, averaging over 3 steals per game for her and her team. She is a player to keep your eyes on.
