of Marian High School is talented in several aspects of the game. She understands her role in every situation and is very good under pressure. To start off this season, Stover is doing it all at the 2-4 positions on the hardwood for her Marian team. She is scoring at a high rate, getting stops on the defensive side against all types of opponents, and she is helping lead her team from a vocal/emotional stand-point. Throughout their first 6 games, Stover is averaging 9.2 PPG, 6 RPG, 2.7 APG, and 2.7 SPG. As you can tell, she makes it happen. Whatever “it” may be. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of her season plays out but it’s been so far, so good. She is producing and her team is winning. Two things you love to see.

was a big part to her varsity teams success last high school season and she will try to repeat that again this time around. Stover is a lengthy 5’11 Small Forward. Some people may tell you that she is a Shooting Guard or Power Forward, but in reality at the college level, she could play the 4 position at a high rate. Stover moves off of the ball well and isn’t afraid to spread the floor. She usually has her way with defenders at the high school level because of her knowledge of when to cut to the basket and when she can catch her defender sleeping. In both the high school setting and AAU setting, Stover has been dominate these past few seasons. She works hard on both ends of the floor while being a skilled-team player. This is another player where I’m not sure where she will end up for college ball but whoever gets her, is getting a steal out of the state of Nebraska.

If we are talking about players who fill up the basket in a hurry on offense then we have to mention McKenna Stover. Stover, a 5’11 combo forward, is a dominate force near the basket who will not take no for an answer while trying to score near the rim. You see this rather quickly by watching her for just a few possessions. You can imagine along with this is her superior ability to rebound over players that are alike in size to herself. She possesses a quick dribble move to help her get past her defender from the outside, creating a lot of nice looking shots at the hoop for herself or one of her teammates throughout a ball game. Stover is a stat stuffer. The player who you may not think it but can give you 20 and 10 in a rather short amount of time, in a bunch of different ways. There are going to be some AAU games this spring/summer where she goes off and I can’t wait to see it.

https://x.com/stover_mckennarnStover is the perfect example of a forward with a guard skillset. Her size makes her a challenge in the paint; however, she can take any player off the dribble on the perimeter. She attacks the rim like the clock is running out every time she touches the ball and can finish strong at the rim in multiple ways. She seems to enjoy the physical part of the game and has the hustle to chase down any loose ball. Stover will be a force for the Crusaders this year.
