Below is a list of point guards that had a good opening day of the Battle in the Sunflower in no particular order. Unfortunately several teams were not viewed during Day 1 but are up to bat for my eyes on Day 2.
Carson Dillard, 5’7″, Farmington (AR), 2022, Shock 2022 Gold – Dillard used a terrific pace changing dribble to attack transition defenders and attack in the half court.
Smalls Goudeaux, 5’9″, Tahlequah (OK), 2022, Shock 2022 Black – Goudeau showed herself to be a high IQ, savvy player with very solid half court ball skills. She ran the 2-on-1 break well and finished well with speed.
Payton Kutz, 5’6″, St. Mary’s (CO), 2022, P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 2022 – Kutz was the straw that stirred the team drink. She defended, shot, and attacked the basket well.
Ashton Evans-Thompson, 5’9″, El Reno (OK), 2022, Oklahoma Swish 2022 Foreman – Very shifty with the ball in the half court. Finished well and reaced well from the weakside to step in to draw a charge.
Halyn Carmack, 5’4″, Alma (AR), 2022, Shock 2022 Gold – Carmack showed a terrific crossover dribble to get into the lane and consistently led 2-on-1 breaks well.
