has been the heartbeat of Omaha South the past few seasons, whenever I have watched her play. Thomas is a PF that understands angles, how to let go of the ball at the right moment to get an easy bucket, and her advantage down low defensively. She also has good hands to be able to catch a nifty pass from a creating guard or she can even dish out an assist or two if need be. Coming off of a solid AAU season, Thomas will look to continue with her momentum and carry it into having a great Winter ahead.

moving into last season she showed a strong post game with her back to the basket. She is a relentless rebounder of the basketball whenever she is on the floor and she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty against some bigger opponents. This season it’s been much of the same. She has been working when her situations are ideal and that has been successful for herself and her team in the long run. Her progression over the next few years will be key to if she can compete at the next level but as of right now, I would venture to say she could make it happen. She is dedicated enough and that can take you a long way in this game when you have the athletic ability that she possesses.

of Omaha South has some promise when it comes to this sport of Basketball. If she works on the correct things moving forward and stays dedicated to the game, she is going to be a promising talent on a collegiate floor one day. Thomas is a Small Forward with some decent size, long arms, and an act for getting her hands on the basketball. More times than not, she is making something out of nothing or scoring with her back to the basket out of the post-area. If she isn’t scoring, she is always rebounding hard, trying to give her team some second chance scoring opportunities. This season for Omaha South, Thomas was a constant. Someone that her team could rely on every night to make something happen. I’ll be on the road this Spring to watch Thomas and to see what she can do against some tougher competition. If it’s anything like this high school season, she is going to be just fine and sometimes, she will even thrive depending on the situation.

almost immediately. Thomas is a 5’10/11 post player, that is coordinated and balanced in everything she does on the court. As a freshman, Thomas basically averaged a double-double in points and rebounds because of her mixture of natural size, strength, and knowledge of the game. When I had the chance to see it live and in-person at our PGH Top 250 Camp, I saw why she was so dominant first-hand. To start off this winter, Thomas is continuing to do more of the same. She is grabbing rebounds at a high rate on both offense and defense, she is scoring in a plethora of different ways around the paint, and she is being an overall leader that others around her can look up too. I’m expecting this production to continue on the rest of this season and honestly, over the rest of her high school career. She has every ability and natural gift to be a very good player not only at this high school level but the collegiate level as well.

was doing all she could during this Showcase and it showed. Thomas is a center that is physically dominate down-low. She understands her body size and physicality compared to others, usually giving her a big advantage next to the basket and that was no different on Sunday. The only issue was, most players weren’t throwing her the ball. There were several times when Thomas would post for 3-4 seconds. over a MUCH smaller player, and no one could get her the ball. When she finally did catch the ball, she took care of business. She was scoring strong baskets and if anyone tried to double her, she would pass it out to an open teammate for a look outside of the perimeter. Overall, every chance that Thomas had, she took advantage of and that’s all you can ask for. I’m excited to see how she builds off of this going into her sophomore season of high school ball at Omaha South.

of Omaha South high school. If you don’t know about Thomas’s game yet, I’d advise you to do some research cause Thomas CAN BALL! Thomas secures this top spot over the others because of her natural size, physical strength, high motor, and ability to dominate everyone around her. As a freshman, Thomas averaged a double-double and made it look easy out there on the court. She bodied most players in the lane, rebounded over anyone who stood in her way, scored in several different situations near and away from the hoop, and was a mismatch nightmare for every team she faced. As of most recent, Thomas was invited to the CP3 National Camp because of her play this previous high school season and this past AAU season with her NHE 17U team. A player like Thomas, with the ceiling she possesses is special but is she a lock to stay in this #1 spot from the rest of high school? Heck no. She is going to have to work to expand and grow her game to keep this spot because the individuals coming up behind her are no joke, that are all very skilled and dedicated to this craft.
