Metoyer is a top-shelf point guard who can really score the basketball and get downhill going to the basket. Omaha North missed her in the state finals after a second quarter injury really hampered the Vikings offense. She scored 49 points in the tournament, including a 21-point effort against Kearney in the semifinals. For the season, Metoyer averaged 11.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.7 assists.

compete, you know that she is going to bring the fire and energy to the highest degree. Metoyer might have moved high school’s this offseason but she is sure to bring the aggressive edge wherever she goes. As a Freshman, Jo lead her old program to the State Tournament with her swift guard play-making ability. She demonstrated that all season long that she was an elite scorer, creator, and disruptor. It’s going to be really fun to see how this goes at Omaha North with Jo and company going the roster. When looking at their overall individual talent level, they are going to be stacked but will they be able to play as a single unit? We will see.

It’s debatable but

might be the most skilled prospect out of this entire 2028 Class when it comes to raw skill within the game of basketball. The way to Metoyer brings the rock down the floor is impressive. She just floats with it. She would be defined as being as cool as the other side of the pillow. She doesn’t seem to feel pressure and she happens to make plays in big moments. Last Winter, Metoyer helped her high school program to the State Tournament. She will have that same opportunity this next eight months with her new program at Omaha North. A program in which if everything falls into place like they have planned, then the sky is the limit.

Another big name that is making the jump to Omaha North this Winter is
Jo Metoyer

of Westside High School. Metoyer made a statement last Winter when she took the varsity floor. She stated that she was one of the hardest players to contain off the bounce throughout the State, that she is one go the most skilled players in the state in general with the ball in her possession, and that she can Will a team to success if need be like all the greats. If this transfer is locked in, approved, and good to go, it’ll be fun to see the dynamic set in place in Omaha these next twelve months. It will all come out to balance but if that is handled correctly, who knows what could happen.

“The upside potential that

and Westside High School possesses is something to be aware of going into this 2025-2026 season. Coming off of a year where they made the State Tournament, this group will have a better than average chance to make it back and do some more damage. When that happens, Metoyer will be the person in charge and leading the pack. Metoyer’s skill set is a nifty guard, that can audible in the blink of an eye. She is very skilled off the dribble with her handle and that helps her create for others or feast in the middle of the lane herself. As long as everyone keeps the momentum rolling, they should continue to see success. Just like in Day 1 of this event.”

If you want to talk about one of the best pound-for-pound players I’ve seen this season from a skill-set standpoint was
Jo Metoyer

of Omaha – Westview High School. Metoyer is an extremely skilled PG, that is lightning fast with the dribble. As a PG, I would put her in the category of a scoring-first type because of how many different ways she can beat her defender off the dribble. She can also find open teammates at a high rate but she would be the one that you would ask to go get you a bucket with 10 seconds left if need be. Metoyer debuts at #7 in this Update with room to grow. If she continues to show her offensive arsenal, while locking in on defense and some other intangibles then she is going to be a hot commodity in the recruiting world coming up here shortly.

is currently in the conversation for being the #1 2028 prospect out of Nebraska because of her advanced skill-set and her ability to impact a game. When I first saw Metoyer compete this Winter in Iowa, I was blown away. Her skill-set as a guard is quick, in control, and very crafty. She is a player that doesn’t get caught up in corners or bad situations while dribbling, instead she stays with space around her and controls what is unfolding in front of her. In Westside’s first win of the Playoffs, they beat Elkhorn South by a good amount. Metoyer was second on her team in scoring with 13 points (6-12), along with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 steals. Westside is going to be able to win some more games looking toward their schedule if they stay locked in. They have all the pieces to make a big run. Now it’s all about actually making it happen.

stole the show on Saturday morning at this event with her high level play making ability on both sides of the basketball against a very talented Des Moines – Valley program. In the end, Westside got the W by a narrow victory of 52-48. It seems like every time down the floor, Metoyer is making a play happen. Offensively, she is shiftier than most. The natural rhyme with the ball in her hands is impressive for her age as it seems extremely seasoned and skilled. Defensively, she is a menace. Someone that is asked to be an annoying defender in the full court and she really dominants in that aspect of the game. Over time, the biggest question for Metoyer and her recruitment will be her efficiency with the ball in her hands. In the way of, at times she just needs to show that she can keep it simple and take what the defense gives her. If she does that, while keeping her high level play making ability, she is going to end up being a recruit with a ton of collegiate interest at the end of her high school career. She came into Iowa today and shined over most. Something she should be proud of moving forward.

and her game, as I’ve only seen very little of it but what I did see, was impressive. Metoyer is a smaller guard, who can run her team’s offense in a number of different ways but with this team, I’m sure she is going to be playing the PG spot a majority of the time when she see’s the floor. She stands right around 5’5 and she has a quick first step that is hard for any defender to stay in-front of while in both the half-court and full-court. As long as she keeps the handle tight and takes care of the matchup in front of her, she is going to have another great season. She is a prospect out of the 2028 Class playing up so this experience is going to do her wonders in the long run. That’s for sure.
