Riley Hamburger Riley Hamburger 6’0″ | SG Paul VI | 2025 State VA had an excellent performance against the Catholic Crusaders. This game was a hard-fought grind-it-out game, and Riley Hamburger Riley Hamburger 6’0″ | SG Paul VI | 2025 State VA was fantastic as usual on defense. She hit a couple of 3s in the first half and battled all game.
The Catholic Crusaders have a tremendous defense, and the game was a dogfight because of it. What gave PVI such a comfortable second-half lead was that they were getting better shots than the crusaders, which has to do with Sadie Shores Sadie Shores 5’10” | CG Woodgrove HS | 2024 State VA . She was great getting downhill, hitting mid-rangers, and getting to the rim. She facilitated well and ran the offense as well as you could ask.
Nyla Brooks Nyla Brooks 6’2″ | SF Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA struggled in the first half, which is the main reason Bishop Ireton was in such a hole going into the second half. That changed in the second half, and Nyla started to get going. She was fantastic in the third quarter and got to the line with her relentlessness in getting to the rim.
I truthfully am running out of words to describe how good Kymora Johnson Kymora Johnson 5’8″ | CG St. Anne’s Belfield | 2023 State VA is. Kymora has been spectacular all year, but this might have been her best performance. She finished with 43 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 steals and was an absolute killer all game. Whenever Bishop Ireton made a run, Kymora hit a big shot or got to the line for an and 1. She was 14/25 from the field, 3/5 from three, and 12/15 from the FT line. She was spectacular, and Bishop Ireton had no answer for her.
Maddie Rice
