The 2024 class is already halfway through their final season of AAU and only a few months away from being in their Senior years of high school. Recruiting is starting to heat up for several players and as we head into the summer, there's a lot to be on the lookout for with this rising Senior class.

Who is the top player in the class?

[player_tooltip player_id='167106' first='Trinity' last='Rowe'] was the top player in our class for a couple of years before [player_tooltip player_id='167099' first='Shaelyn' last='Steele'] knocked her off the perch in our last update. [player_tooltip player_id='398033' first='Ayanna-Sarai' last='Darrington'] burst on the scene this season and cracked our top 5. [player_tooltip player_id='231487' first='Mariah' last='Knight'] could have the most upside of anyone in 2024. As the class moves into their last year of high school, which player will separate herself from the pack and become a clear number one?

Will any school have the firepower to dethrone Sacred Heart?

The Senior class at SHA has won the state championship every year they've been in high school. With [player_tooltip player_id='257276' first='Angelina' last='Pelayo'], [player_tooltip player_id='245899' first='Reagan' last='Bender'], and [player_tooltip player_id='530454' first='Emilee' last='Howe'] leading the charge in the 2024 class, they'll be looking for 4 in a row. Some statewide contenders include the aforementioned Rowe and Pikeville, [player_tooltip player_id='369667' first='Claire' last='Johnson'] and McCracken County, [player_tooltip player_id='239840' first='Quinn' last='Eubank'] and [player_tooltip player_id='167137' first='Sarah' last='Baker'] at Ryle and a handful of others. GRC gave the Valkyries their two closest in-state games last year and could again but can anyone knock off the champs?

Which players will take their game to another level?

There are several candidates in the Senior class that I could see growing and developing their games in the next few months to be mentioned among the best in 2024. Some names I think you could buy low on now and sell high on later? [player_tooltip player_id='413440' first='Rachel' last='Shropshire'] (Franklin County), Brookyln White (Paris), [player_tooltip player_id='231463' first='Ava' last='Schureman'] (Great Crossing), [player_tooltip player_id='167108' first='Chloe' last='Hannah'] (Paintsville), [player_tooltip player_id='320859' first='Kennedy' last='Creekmore'] (McCreary Central) among others.

Will any other players move back into the 2024 Class?

I (and others) were surprised to see [player_tooltip player_id='158176' first='Hayden' last='Barrier'] move back into her original 2024 class when she announced her commitment to Miami (OH) this spring. When the KHSAA offered the "Covid year" reclass, some players used that option to move into 2025. Hayden is the first I've known to move back into her original class. It will be interesting to see if any others across the Commonwealth follow suit.
