We briefly touched on the move that Tylee Weite made to begin this AAU season but I can’t say it enough, I love it. The MN Fury UAA is a program that knows how to teach and develop players while winning a LOT of games in the meantime and that’s the recipe for success on the AAU floor if you ask anyone that understands how this all works. Weite is going to add lethal shooting for the Fury from the outside. She is catch and shoot specialist that moves really well off of the basketball. When her high school career first started all she could do was make it rain with a picture perfect stroke from three point land but she has rounded out some things the last few years and she is more of a three level scoring threat more than ever right now. I think Weite could be one of this programs featured players over this next season. She checks off a lot of boxes that evaluators have so we will just have to see.

I love the move that

has made moving into this AAU season. She will now be competing out of Minnesota with Minnesota Fury 17U GUAA for her last Spring season on the road. Weite is known as a D1 level, knock down shooter. She can make it rain off the catch and when she lets it fly, the net barely moves because it’s so pure. I’m hoping that this Spring Weite will have a chance to show what else she has in her arsenal on the offensive end. She is a good handler of the ball, solid vision, she can create off of the dribble, and she can finish at the hoop on either side so as long as she isn’t settling she should be able to thrive over the next couple of months. You have to remember that this is someone with multiple D1 offers at this time so you know she is going to bring it every time she laces up her kicks.

has been playing some productive basketball to start this Winter with DSM Valley. Weite is a 5’10 SG with a quick trigger from deep. She lets the ball fly from behind the three point line multiple times a contest and each time it looks like the shot is going to be perfect. It might not go in every time but her shot form, footwork, coordination, and when she is choosing to shoot is on point right now. Weite possesses several D1 offers as we move into the thick of this season. If she keeps putting up impressive stat lines while being a solid overall teammate, who knows who else might jump in before she ends up committing somewhere.

One of the most automatic shooters that this 2027 Class possesses is

of DSM – Valley High School. Weite has a sniper from deep when she lets the rock go off of the catch but that’s been obvious for a few years now. Every time she lets her shot go, her form looks picture perfect and the shot always seems to have a chance of going in. I expect Weite to be a Division-1 commit at the end of the day. She already holds a few offers from that level and she is going to have a lot more opportunity this Winter to show off what she can really do on both sides of the ball. Until then, Weite will hold onto the #7 spot in this Update.

The University of Northern Iowa Women’s Bball staff has been offering Iowa kids at a good rate the past month following the July Live Period. I like when programs look at their prospects in state. Iowa is the breeding ground for some fantastic hoopers and a lot of them are going to shine when they get the chance. The most recent offer from the Panthers being to SG –

of Des Moines – Valley High School. Weite makes shooting the ball from deep look effortless. The balance, the shooting stroke, the coordination. All of it together combines to make a solid product that jumps off the screen. If she continues to grow in her weaknesses of the game, who knows where she might take things before her basketball journey comes to a close.

at the SG position. Weite competes for

EYBL and Des Moines – Valley High School throughout the Winters. Weite would be considered a natural SG, that has a beautiful shot whenever she lets it go. Doesn’t matter how close or how deep it is from the hoop. Doesn’t matter if it’s contested or not. The shot always looks the exact same and that is one of the first signs of someone who could become a lethal weapon at the D1 level. She can do some other stuff like put it on the floor and get to the bucket off the dribble against weaker defenders but she stands out because of how well she can shoot it. That is for sure. She knows she has to build off of this ability moving into the Spring/Summer. If she does that and shows more facets to her game over-time, she should continue to field D1 offers until she makes a commitment to compete at the next level.

Tylee Weite is another player that has been rising up the ranks over the years and this time, she moves into the #4 spot for her 2027 Class. Weite has a sniper from deep, she plays smart and calculated defense, she is willing to sacrifice her body for the good of the team without asking any questions, and she understands what it means to play against other nationally ranked competition. At Valley this Winter, Weite should be their top dawg and producer in a lot of categories before the season comes to a close. From there she will step back on the AAU floor with her All Iowa Attack team and look to continue on with whatever momentum she has put into place.

Tylee Weite made an impact in all aspects of the game on Tuesday, and showed that she’ll be Valley’s go-to player this season. Finishing with 18 points and 3 boards vs Ankeny, the sophomore scored in a number of different ways – off the blow-by dribble, stepping behind handoffs for deep threes, and using crafty footwork in the paint. At 5’10”, Weite also defended Ankeny’s post players and did so with aggression and intelligence. She contested passes in the paint well, and stayed disciplined for a smooth block too. Weite is the motor that makes Valley go and I predict a breakout season for her.

Valley High School losses a lot this Winter but that just means they will have some opportunity open for the taking and I actually think that they are going to fill in those spots just fine. One of their best, if not thee best player that this roster possesses is 5’10 SG – Tylee Weite. Weite is a competitor, who can light it up from deep with her shooting ability off of the catch or dribble. This past AAU season Weite was a standout on the EYBL Circuit, doing her thing and making waves. It’s going to really feel like “her” team this time around so as long as she can play into that, she is going to have a memorable season with the Tigers.

Tylee Weite is one of the state’s premier prospects out of the 2027 Class and she keeps on receiving a lot of love from the college levels as it pertains to her recruitment. As of most recent, Weite has taken visits to Illinois State and St. Thomas, receiving official offers from both programs. This is a prospect that is only going into her Sophomore season at DSM – Valley and her future is extremely bright. By the end of her high school career she is on pace to have about 15-20 Division-1 offers and that is something she should be extremely proud of.
