I anticipate that Lizzy Frazell will be a solid role player at Drake when she takes the collegiate floor in a couple of seasons. Frazell, the 5’11 CG/SF, is adaptable. She can produce with or without the basketball being in her possession for long periods of time and that’s going to be sometime that translates at the next level. Unless you are PG #1 – 95% of the game is played without the ball so anyways that you can produce without having the ball in your actual possession, the better. Frazell is the type with some sneaky athletic ability, she has the height, she has the skill, and she is selfless enough that she is going to produce without looking for any of the credit – those are four factors that college coaches love and those are four factors that college coaches can help develop over time within the right system. Which is what I expect to happen as Frazell continues to get older.

“Frazell is playing her role to a T today for her AIA EYBL 17U program. Fraz is the only Iowa native prospect on this 17U team. Today she has been hitting her shots from deep off the catch, she is not afraid to drive into the defense to get her team a better look offensively, and she can D up on multiple levels on that side of the floor. All in all, today proved to me more than ever that Frazell will excel at Drake. She can fit whichever role she is given as the 2, 3, or 4, and I only expect her to get better with experience.”

If you haven’t recognized it yet, Lizzy Frazell Lizzy Frazell 5'11" | CG/SF Waverly-Shell Rock | 2027 State IA is the ONLY prospect from Iowa, on the All Iowa Attack 17U EYBL team, and she should be highlighted for that moving into the last AAU weekend of her career. Frazell is a Drake commit, competing at the CG/SF position at 6’0. Frazell comes from a family of tall and athletic ballers. Her older brother was the exact same way when he was competing at the high school ranks so Lizzy’s mixture of skill and size makes a lot of sense. Offensively, she is a three level scoring threat, being able to put the ball into the hoop at any given time. Defensively, she can defend her own position and she can switch onto someone bigger or smaller if need be. It’s all up to what her assignment specifically is within that contest. I’m sure we will be hearing about Frazell with the Bulldogs over the next 4-5 seasons. If she keeps getting better with age/experience, who knows where she might end up when it’s all said and done.

Lizzy Frazell continues to make her mark as a next level prospect whenever she is hooping. Frazell is one of those players that coaches love to work with because of her combination of size, speed, skill, and smarts. She is a guard with better than average height, she has a fundamental ability to put the ball in the bucket from all offensive levels, and she is a teammate that everyone likes to be around by the looks of it. She can be used as your team’s Forward or she can be used as the 2 or 3, depending on the lineup surrounding her. On the Varsity floor during high school ball she has to do SEVERAL different thinks for her squad. At the next level with Drake, it’ll become a little easier when she can specialize into that CG position.

Frazell will graduate as one of the most underrated prospects that the state has to offer out of the 2027 Class. In reality, Frazell has ran her own race up until this point in her career. She has always kept things quiet, off of social media but that doesn’t change the fact that she can really hoop at 6’0. Frazell has length for her size, she moves like a natural guard with her height, and she can take over a contest in the blink of an eye. She has had countless contests where she has posted eye-opening stat lines throughout her career, making three’s, hitting open cutters with a pass, and defending like her life depended on it. She just happens to compete for a “smaller” school for her Class so many don’t notice what she is doing but it is impressive. If you have to face this Waverly-Shell Rock High School team, you have to account for Frazell or else she will have 20 & 20 by halftime.

Lizzy Frazell Lizzy Frazell 5'11" | CG/SF Waverly-Shell Rock | 2027 State IA of Waverly Shell Rock is a D1 committed player and she is acting like it this season for her final go-around. Frazell has that combination of size, skill, and smarts that every coach loves to work with. She is a 6’0 Guard with a three level scoring ability for the most part, so you can probably understand why she has been making easy work of everyone else in her way to begin this season. WSR is sitting with an 11-1 record but they have some highly rated matchups coming to them in the near future. That’s when we will really figure out which programs are legit and which have some work to do before they can bring home a State Title.

Lizzy Frazell Lizzy Frazell 5'11" | CG/SF Waverly-Shell Rock | 2027 State IA is a slept on prospect out of Waverly-Shell Rock High School. Frazell, a 5’11 CG/SF, is extremely active on and off of the ball. She has that mixture of size, skill, and athletic ability that all coaches love to work with. In Frazell’s first showing of the season she recorded double digits in points, while really standing out as a defensive threat more than anything else truthfully. Frazell finish that first game with 5 Blocks, currently ranking her second in the entire state for BPG. When the opposing team tried to attack the basket, Waverly’s defense stepped up and made their mark next to Frazell on a consistent basis. If they keep this up as a group, this will be a tough one to stop this Winter.

Lizzy Frazell Lizzy Frazell 5'11" | CG/SF Waverly-Shell Rock | 2027 State IA of Waverly-Shell Rock is going to put together another incredible season in the stat books and as an overall leader. Frazell is one of the most underrated and under-recruited prospects that Iowa has to offer at this time. She has a great mixture of size, athletic ability, and knowledge within the game. A mixture that we don’t see out of most. She can with move as a guard and operate from the outside or she can post up smaller individuals near the bucket for an easier attempt. She is a three level scorer by definition and she does the little things well as a whole. At this time Frazell only holds one D1 offer at this time but hopefully that changes up over the next few months as we move into the Winter season.

When you look back at things in a few years, you are going to realize that Lizzy Frazell Lizzy Frazell 5'11" | CG/SF Waverly-Shell Rock | 2027 State IA might be the most skilled #10 ranked player of any Class in the history of the state. Frazell is a D1 talent, she just doesn’t have a bunch of video or highlights out there. She does everything simple REALLY well and she possesses a great mixture of height, athletic ability, and skill. She currently holds one D1 offer at this time but that number should grow. If she can get seen by the right set of eyes over the next twelve months, she should possess a handful of offers before she ends up committing later down the line.

Everyone is sleeping on Lizzy Frazell Lizzy Frazell 5'11" | CG/SF Waverly-Shell Rock | 2027 State IA . Throwing that out there now so it’s known. Frazell is a 5’11 CG/SF, who can shoot the leather off of the basketball from every distance. You watch Frazell shoot for three minutes and you know it’s special. Her form is pure, effortless, and the same every single time. No matter what happens leading up to it. She is also big and athletic enough that she can switch defensively onto a few different positions to get a stop. Coaches love this type of play because it fits into several different types of offensive systems. I’m not sure who is going to sneak in late and scoop Frazell but she is a college player, who is going to be able to do some things at the next level with her ability. That is for sure.
