About Emma

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play gritty & with passion. I will play at the top of the key but not afraid to go downhill. I have a good visual of the floor. I will attack lanes given to the basket but will kick out & assist if others open up. I I recognize defense is just as important as offense &I contribute on both ends of the floor. Teamwork is priortiy over individual scoring.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very fun person. I love to have my fun on the court while staying locked in. I love to have the mentality of when something doesn’t go right on offense or defense I’ll hustle to get back. If I can’t score, I’m going to still take those open lanes to draw a defender to kick out to my teammate. I like to think on defense that my teammates are working hard so I’m going to have their backs.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a National Honor Society member.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have definitely developed a skill in teamwork. I’ve learned that you aren’t going to win games to often if one person is trying to do everything. I feel that I have worked better with my teammates to not only help me, but doing something for them too. In my community, I help a lot with the youth to help them continue to grow skills like leadership and teamwork.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Emma Walkup Emma Walkup Emma Walkup 5'7" | SG Pella | 2027 State IA is as smooth as they come as a guard. I would consider her more of a PG than a SG but she knows how to score it in so many ways that you can go either way honestly. Walkup has an effortless handle, great vision on and off the ball, and an act for always making a play when it’s needed the most. We watched Walkup hit shots over defenders all afternoon while also being a willing passer. She is the type to never be too high or too low attitude wise, always staying pretty mellow, even in success and that makes her even more intriguing in the grand scheme of things.
