TN's High School Summer Camp Insights: June 9th Edition

I'm in constant contact with people around the state that are in the know. High school coaches, travel coaches, media, etc and I'm always hunting their insights. Disclaimer: It's summer ball. For some coaches it means almost literally nothing. But, I think it can set the tone for your team's season. And on an individual level, it shows who's been putting in the work since their HS season ended. So personally, I love summer HS ball.   Here is what I have for today:    After a terrific spring playing with SE United, Shields is starting to become the player everyone who knew her thoughts she'd eventually be. Her last two days of camp went like this:   Day 1: 2 triple doubles   Day 2: 30 point game followed by a 20 point game   She's showing deep range, extreme confidence off the dribble, and is simply becoming one of the better scorers in TN's '26 class.     There is no doubt about it....[player_tooltip player_id='410171' first='Jordan' last='White'] is a big time PG about to have a huge season. She's played great all spring for Trotter's Heifner '25, and she's been phenomenal for Northview so far this summer. She's putting up gaudy assist numbers, while also scoring and rebounding at a high level.     Brown has been terrific this summer for Northview as their primary scorer. She's been hitting about two three's a game while also attacking the rim well. She's by far Northview's leading scorer this summer, and it's obvious she's really worked hard on her game this offseason. She's primed for a huge senior season.     Alber has been crushing this summer, and I think is going to wow people. She's showing off her athleticism as both a scorer and high volume rebounder. She's been a menace on the offensive glass, and is creating both extra possessions and easy buckets for herself. She is so much better than people know...   She's 2nd on the team in scoring,, first in blocks, and first in rebounding this summer for NV.     As Northview is replacing some major pieces that graduated, Lykes is stepping right into the "next man up" mentality of HS sports. She's come right into the starting lineup and proven she's a talented scorer and looks to be a consistent threat from three. She's doing it efficiently too, shooting over 50% overall from the floor.     The sophomore is stepping right into a key role and exceeding expectations. She's believe she's one of the better '27s that we aren't talking about. Her form is really nice, and I think she has everything it takes to be a high level shooter from 3.     My sources are saying Grainger looks MUCH improved led by the play of Hayes. At her size, she's a unique scorer and playmaker. The addition of of freshman Brooklyn Roach has helped a lot as well alleviating some of the pressure for her. She's going to have a big time junior year.    Clinton HS is said to look rock solid in summer camp play. [player_tooltip player_id='816710' first='Lanee' last='Carmichael'], [player_tooltip player_id='816656' first='Addi' last='Gamble'], and Burroughs a tough "Big 3", and they seem to be a lock to repeat in that district. All three are coming off great springs that have carried over into big summers for their high school team.
