Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Reese is a top-five junior forward in her class, and if she wins the battle inside, it could propel St. Mary’s Prep to a statement win. Her skillful footwork, finishing touch, passing vision, and ability to score as a face-up driver create mismatches. Reese can step outside to hit perimeter jumpers, and she doesn’t get moved off her spots. Reese uses her shoulder well to create space against contesting defenders and keeps her balance by going up off two feet. She protects the basket as a shot blocker and will be a key player in this game.

Reese was one of the most dominant forwards at Northwood Team Camp. She caught a pass on the elbow, drove past a defender, then finished with an emphatic and-one layup. Reese denied entry passes to cutters and picked off passes for steals. She made an impressive contested catch and finished with a powerful reverse off two feet. Reese closed out hard to block a shot, caught passes with soft hands, and scored many bunnies at the rim off two feet. She dropped in a floater through hard contact at the rim straight through the net. Reese stepped outside to hit a three-pointer and will be an exciting prospect to watch with Orchard Lake St. Mary’s this winter.

Reese is a dominant presence in the paint for Michigan Storm, anchoring the defense as a premier rim protector. She finishes strong around the basket with either hand and uses her combination of strength and length to impact the game on both ends. Not just a force inside, she can also step out and knock down mid-range shots and threes, making her a versatile threat. A big spring and summer are on the horizon for her, and she’s definitely a player to keep an eye on this AAU season.
