The senior point guard showed off excellent court vision, physicality and motor on Monday, playing the entire game for the Rams. Bartlett was on triple double watch as well, finishing the night with 19 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds. Don’t let her height fool you – Barlett can score at every level and does so with authority. One of my favorite plays of the game Monday featured Bartlett shouldering a defender and scooping through contact for a tough and one. Bartlett looks prepped for an impressive senior season.

In these sets this weekend, Bartlett has been able to set up the others around her for success while still looking for her own at the right moments. She is going to be a fun watch this Winter with the Rams but this weekend, was a solid example of how she can fit in as a piece to her team’s puzzle compared to having to consistently play hero-ball.”

Bartlett is the type of Point Guard with a lot of crafty skill. She has a great change of speed and direction going toward the rim, while being an able and willing passer to the others around her once she gets the defense to commit to her skill move. With the Coyotes, she is going to be someone that is going to be able to make everyone better as she holds her own on the defensive side of the ball. If she can do that, she should be primed to see the floor sooner rather than later. This season with her Southeast Polk program, she will have a lot of their offense on her back so as long as others make the most of their opportunities once she creates, they should win some highly anticipated battles before everything is said and done.

At this specific showing, she was her team’s offense because that was her job it seemed like. She was killing her matchups in 1v1 situations, while getting others involved in several different ways. If this Southeast Polk team wants to compete at a high level and make a State Tournament run this Winter they are going to have to figure out some things. Mainly their strategy. Bartlett is eventually going to get double or even triple teamed in some contests so the question will be, who can step up and help them when it matters the most. If multiple people can do that, everything will be just fine but we will have to wait and see.

If you know anything about Bartlett, it’s that she is a South Dakota Women’s Basketball commit and a heck of a competitor. Every time she takes the floor, she leaves it all out there. She isn’t afraid to sacrifice her body for the good for the team in any given moment and she is always willing to make an extra pass to hit an open teammate for an easy opportunity. This season will be her biggest challenge yet. We will see how good she can really become and how far she can help lead her Rams team at the end of the year, prior to heading off to compete with the Coyotes.
