Brooklyn Ruddy was a standout last season on the Varsity floor for Southeast Polk and with a new coach in place this upcoming Winter, she might be even better over the next two years. Ruddy has that cool and calm ability to get to where ever she wants to on the floor. She moves past her matchups with relative ease and she knows how to defend her own position. I think we are in for a big June high school run from the Rams and Ruddy could be leading that charge. She has been someone to note the last six months on the floor and so I’m hoping that she can continue with that momentum as we move into the thick of Summer.

Southeast Polk has some respectable guard play this Winter from the looks of it. Someone that kept getting their name called for one reason or another last night was their CG – Brooklyn Ruddy Brooklyn Ruddy 5'7" | CG Southeast Polk | 2028 State IA . Ruddy is someone with a crafty dribble, a good sense of how to attack her defender offensively, while being able to jump to the ball defensively at a higher rate than most. In this contest Ruddy knocked down a three pointer or two, she got to the hoop at a consistent rate, and she worked hard defensively as a disruptor. When Southeast Polk has success this Winter, I’m sure Ruddy will too. She showed some glimpses of a solid foundation in this contest and she should be able to build on that moving forward.

Brooklyn Ruddy Brooklyn Ruddy 5'7" | CG Southeast Polk | 2028 State IA is a smart and talented player for her age level, who is only going to get better with experience at the high school level. She makes great choices and is never trying to force any action on either side of the floor. She understands what her teammates do the best, always trying to set them up for success in one way or another, while being a high level scoring threat herself offensively. Ruddy is a prospect that makes things go. She isn’t necessary a Point Guard but she knows how to motivate the ones around her into having success and that speaks volumes about what she could bring to the floor every night. Coming into this high school season, I’m not sure if she is going to see the Varsity floor right away but it would not surprise me if she was starting by the time she is a Sophomore. She is going to have to show her worth and put in some where to find out where she stands amongst the others coming in but I don’t see that being a problem moving forward.
