I wrote about Amirah a while back as a senior who needs to be getting way more attention than she is and all of that skill was on display again at these scrimmages. She stood out initially (when I didn’t exactly remember who she was) for her shooting. I was like, “Oh, there’s a nice Small Forward with good size that can shoot it.” Then I saw her start throwing some one-handed passes around to back door cutters and handling the ball with ease and I was like, “Oh, she’s a guard with really good size, I guess?” Then she bodied someone off the ball down low and grabbed a rebound and I was like, “wait, I’ve written about her!” Amirah is a big-time prospect who can do a lot of things very well and she is an important part of this Jenks Trojans squad.

“Positionless” basketball is a really big thing right now and I’m not sure anybody in Oklahoma embodies that more than Amirah does. She is built like a really strong, tough guard. She plays like a big who can shoot it. She is unafraid to crash the boards and racks up the rebounds because of it. She also has the handles to bring it up court, if need be. On top of all of that, she shows the ability to score from pretty much anywhere. She has a quick shot from deep, with a very high release. She has some good post moves and hits her free throws consistently. Wherever you decide to utilize her, you will not be disappointed.
