Avery is the fiercest Bulldog on the court and has been a dominant difference-maker for Chelsea this season. After graduating valuable pieces, it was expected that Chelsea would take a step back this season, but Avery had other plans. She started the season with 27 points in a win against the pre-season D3 favorite Grass Lake. Avery was unstoppable against a scrappy Sault St. Marie squad on the road, carrying the team to victory with a 35-point performance. She passed 1,000 career points while leading Chelsea to a comeback win against Grand Blanc on the road, scoring 27 in the game. She has scored the second most points in school history, helped the team to a 16-4 record, and statement wins against Grass Lake, Sault St. Marie, and Dexter twice. Avery has averaged 19 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3 steals, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game this season. 58 of her 171 rebounds have come on the offensive end (18 gms reported). Avery is relentless, built for the college level, and has earned her ranking as the top wing/small forward in Michigan’s 2025 class. She will continue her career at Grand Valley State.

Lay redefined the term “rim protector” this past weekend. She was relentless on the offensive boards. Although she is listed as a small forward, she has great ball-handling skills. She made a steal on one end, dribbled coast to coast, executed a fancy spin move, and scored while being fouled. She has received numerous offers, and her list of offers will likely grow if she continues to play the way she did this past weekend.

Avery Avery Server | 2025 OH was one of the more entertaining prospects I saw all weekend. She is another versatile combo forward who can play at all three levels. She has an athletic frame, solid strength, and she can run & jump. She knocked down a couple of perimeter jumpers in catch & shoot situations, but she also put it on the floor and attacked the basket aggressively. She has a nose for the ball, gets a lot of put-back baskets, and she can defend three positions. I can see her drawing a wide variety of interest, from Division-I schools to elite small colleges.

2025-Willis at The Clash. The gym was packed full of college coaches and Avery took full advantage of the opportunity to showcase her skills. Avery stands out because of her athleticism, height, and strong physical frame. She played with a relentless motor on both ends, forcing turnovers with her ball pressure and securing offensive rebounds. Avery elevated strong off two feet against defenders, buried a wing 3, and made a ferocious two handed block in the paint. She attacked the paint and dished an accurate kick out for the assist on a drive. Avery proved she is one of Michigan’s best college prospects.

Lay was just a stock-riser this summer and did it once again. She has interest from a variety of schools, including D1 programs. Lay is a smooth athlete that can make plays both in a half court set as well as in transition. She’s the type of player that doesn’t have to be shot heavy to have a big influence on the outcome of the game.

Lay is an elite talent in Michigan and even beyond the state borders. She’s a super efficient wing that never seems to take a bad shot or have a mental miscue. Lay is a prime example of a player that puts the work in and just keeps improving and expanding her game. She has offers from schools like Purdue – Fort Wayne, Central Michigan and Youngstown State.
