About Bailee
Expert Analysis

Bailee made the move to Assumption along with 3 of her teammates from CAL. She averaged 13.8 points and 4.5 rebounds a game for the Centurions last season. I watched her a couple times this summer playing for the Sports City Angels 17U EYBL. She looked good running the point, shot the ball well from the mid-range and was all up in ball handlers on defense. Bailee picked up her 3rd D1 from Purdue Fort Wayne in June. She could be the X-factor for the new look Lady Rockets this year.

Duck is such an electric and shifty guard. She is quicker with the ball than most players are without the ball. I’ve seen even the best defenders struggle to stay in front of her because of her speed and ball handling skills. She also uses her speed as a defender and can stay in front of a lot of talented lead guards. She gets into the passing lanes to get steals and often beats everyone down the floor in transition. Duck can score off the dribble by getting to the rim or through her floaters or jump shots. She can knock down the three ball, but it felt like she was even more consistent at knocking down the 15-footer. She averaged 9.5 PPG this past season and should have a strong summer as she suits up for Kentucky Premier ‘s 16U EYBL team.

Duck is third on the CAL roster in scoring but has the potential to lead them in scoring any night out. As defenses focus on Wilkins and Knight, Bailee gets to see single coverage and she can get to the rim with the best of them. If she can get hot from 3, CAL can be a serious threat to get deep into the postseason.

Duck is one of the quickest floor generals around. She’s so dynamic and can really handle a lot of pressure. She was running the point for CAL and she was really making a lot happen, whether that be creating for her teammates or scoring the ball herself. Duck has strong handles and she’s really tough to stay in front of. She can knock down shots quickly or she can finish in the paint or at the rim on her drives. However, when help defense steps over on her, she does a good job of distributing the ball. Duck had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in CAL’s opening game, and then had 6 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the following game. In the final game, Duck finished with 9 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, and a block.

Duck is one of the quickest players in this state. She is so shifty with the basketball and she can beat everyone down the floor in a flash. Her numbers from the start of this season really illustrate how much she brings to the floor. After averaging 4.5 PPG and 0.7 RPG as a freshman, she has already drastically improved those numbers in the start of her sophomore season as she is averaging 11 PPG and 2.7 RPG throughout CAL’s 1st 3 games. Duck can handle the ball and pressure well, but her ability to weave through defenders and get to the basket is special. She also can finish via floaters, jump shots, and 3-pointers.

Moving up from 22 to 13 in this update, Duck is quickly emerging as a top player for CAL this season after waiting her turn last year. Bailee is capable of running an offense but is at her best when she’s creating instant offense for her team as an off the ball threat to shoot and/or drive at all times.

Playing for a team that lost their top 2 Guards to graduation, Duck stands to inherit a ton of minutes this winter. She has earned them, but the question remains as to what position she will fill in the backcourt. She is a good enough shooter to be the 2 and a good enough ballhandler to be the 1, and she is a great free throw shooter meaing you would want the ball in her hands late in games. Determining where to put her is the good kind of problem to have.
She is an excellent prospect with a ton of skill and a strong basketball IQ that she uses to impact the game in numerous ways. Her defense is excellent for stopping penetration and she uses her hands like surgeon. She avoids the foul but still finds a way to poke away the ball with a light touch. Watch you wallet (joke) because if there is player that could pick it clean Duck is that girl. Her lateral quickness is perhaps more impressive than any of her other physical traits.

Duck was one of the quickest, most electric players on the floor. She can handle the ball, she can score the ball, she can create, and she can defend. She was able to get by defenders with one move, and she did that multiple times. She can knock down shots or get to the rim. Duck made some great passes as well.
