Carter put on a very impressive performance on the offensive end in the game I watched showing a lot of the tools in her bag. She is a big, physical player who has the strength to absorb contact and did not shy away from it. She attacked the basket relentlessly with great success and does one of the better jobs I have seen from a player securing the basketball before going up for layups on the move. She did this several times in transition and the half court, protecting the ball as she split defenders on her way to finishing at the basket or getting fouled and going to the free throw line. She shot the ball well from the perimeter, but it was a small sample size and need to see Calia play more. This was the first time I had watched Carter play, but it will not be the last as I look forward to watching her and her team again in Ohio in July.

Calia is an elite defender due to her ability to guard multiple positions. She has excellent length and and good hands and is a beast on the glass. She’s especially tough on the offensive boards where she routinely gets her teams extra possessions and shots. If she can improve her perimeter shot she can jump up to a low D1 prospect.

Calia has strong in-game instincts that allow her to play with a natural, freestyle rhythm. She flows within the action, putting herself in positions where the ball finds her for quality scoring opportunities both inside and outside the paint. Defensively, her balanced footwork and high IQ enable her to effectively guard positions 1 through 4 with confidence and discipline.

Calia has been really impressive in her new role at Pikesville where she has really settled in. She has been using her length and instincts to create multiple extra possessions per game for her team by battling in the paint and on the glass. Defensively she has been impressive as well. She’s been solid on the ball and is very disruptive. She’s been able to add some secondary scoring just by hustling and being in the right spots.

Calia’s is very smooth as she allows the game to come to her. She played every possession with poise. Calia is able to play and guard positions 1-4 inside and out. Her best offence is below the free throw line.

Calia is a big guard that can give quality minutes at small forward because of her tenacity and toughness. Being in a new, winning culture at Pikesville will definitely raise her stock if she continues to bring the heat on defense. Her offense is still emerging as she learns to play off ball in Pikesville’s guard heavy system. ShShee has had success in the fall as a slasher and on power drives to the hoop.

Calia has been a difference maker for Pikesville this fall. She contributes in many ways but I have been most impressed by her defense and rebounding. She is an effective on ball defender due to her length, footwork and upper body strength which has allowed her to guard multiple positions. She looks very comfortable with her new teammates and has been able to provide some additional scoring around the basket.
