Long rebounds like a forward, but covers on the perimeter like a guard. Her rebounding in particular is impressive due to her tenacity to grab contested rebounds. Understands the angles needed to win those boards, while also slide over and help defensively. Has similar good awareness on offense, where she’s often an unselfish connector type for the Lady Broncos. The senior is a “right place, right time” player who seems to be a perfect representation of a tough and defensive Mustang squad.

The swiss army knife senior for Mustang was their standout performer with a tenacity on the glass and defensively. She’s athletic and strong when grabbing boards. Long had one sequence where she converted a putback, then seconds later jumped the passing lanes in a press to force a steal. On defense she has outstanding positioning to help wall off drives or even block shots. Good feel as a connector type paser in the half court, operating in spaces of the zone and making reads. Type of player that leaves her fingerprints all over all aspects of the game.

Another key part of Mustang’s quality defense, Long crashes the glass on both ends of the court hard. While having the height and wingspan to contest shots and be very disruptive in the passing lanes. On the offensive end, she continued her blue collar ways, with good finishing around the rim. Which was crucial in holding off the Norman comeback attempt.
