Clemson University signee had a big week. Standing 6’6 and dominating with her left hand Dyarri controlled the paint on both sides of the ball. Offensively, she was setting up for lob passes and creating easy finishes for herself. She was also controlling the game by demanding the ball on a pick and roll that was leaving her open for shots around the basket. She controlled the boards on both sides and was a huge influencer in the paint with her shot blocking skills.

Braddick, who currently sports SCISA 4A First Baptist purple will add orange to that purple hue when she embarks on her collegiate journey with Clemson. In her Hurricanes’ hard-fought contest against 4A Gray Collegiate, Braddick scored 13 points. With a stature that is well over six feet, Braddick will come out on the winning end of many a rebounding battle. What drew many a collegiate coach and scout to Braddick was her defense as she is one of the premier shot blockers in the state. Those shot-blocking capabilities, rebounding and timely offense are built for the ACC – but is the ACC ready?

Braddick is one of the premier veteran bigs in the state – particularly on the defensive end of the floor. Changes that First Baptist’s roster underwent in the offseason should mean Braddick is even more of a featured big than she was in 2024-25 – a season that saw the Hurricanes advance to the SCISA 4A state championship. Much of her AAU days were spent with the TMP/ Charleston Raptors and Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite organizations. Braddick averaged 7.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots last season. She is more than poised to end her high school career with an exclamation point before she transitions to Clemson and ACC basketball.

One of those commitment announcements occurred via one of the Lowcountry’s premier bigs. Braddick made her collegiate decision – and the announcement was she will stay in state to play at Clemson. She had plenty of interest – including from Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb, Hampton, West Georgia, Elon and East Carolina. She has not only played basketball throughout her athletic career, but also softball. One of the premier bigs in the state who can make plays on both ends of the floor, Braddick’s 7.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game she averaged were key in getting First Baptist to last season’s SCISA 4A championship game.

As SCISA 4A First Baptist looks to finish its unfinished business from last season, one can expect Braddick to be the featured big for the 2025-26 version of the Hurricanes. A premier big on both offense and defense, Braddick landed a pair of Division I offers from UT-Arlington and Tulsa. She also was part of the Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite 17U team that took part at the Nike Nationals in Chicago. Braddick was a great help to First Baptist’s run to the SCISA 4A state championship game as she averaged 7.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per contest in 2024-25.

Presbyterian coach Tiffany Sardin must have been impressed with First Baptist’s bigs at the Blue Hose recent team camp. Not only was Rush offered by Sardin, but the same applied to Braddick. Gardner-Webb, Hampton, Elon, East Carolina and West Georgia have also extended offers Braddick’s way. She is a major reason as to why the Hurricanes present one of the most fearsome frontcourts in the entire state – either in the private or public school realm. Braddick, whose career included a stint with 1A St. John’s, is listed at 6-foot-6 and that height advantage particularly shows itself on the defensive end of the floor where she is a consistent threat to reject opposing shot attempts.

DYarri stepping onto the AAU court, immediately establishing herself as a force on the boards. In one game, perhaps a crucial matchup, multiple shots clank off the rim in quick succession. You see DYarri, with her sharp anticipation, already moving before the ball even hits the backboard. She boxes out her opponent with a strong, fundamental technique, creating a clear lane. Then, with a well-timed jump, she snatches the rebound cleanly, securing possession for her team and preventing a second chance for their rivals.
