As Saturday’s contest between First Baptist and Gray Collegiate wore on, Pouyat made more of her presence known. A hard-fought contest between the two teams may have gone the way of the War Eagles, but the 11 points placed on the scoreboard by the Hurricanes’ multi-talented senior guard kept SCISA 4A First Baptist in the contest from start to finish. Pouyat displays her toughness with consistency and also has no problems attempting long-range shots against taller defenders. She has no problems drawing contact that can place her at the free throw line and will find attacking lanes to the basket.

Pouyat picked up her latest collegiate offer from Wheaton College in the Chicago area of Illinois. After a 2024-25 season that saw her First Baptist team qualify for the SCISA 4A championship game, Pouyat and the rest of her Hurricanes will have an “unfinished business” mindset for the 2025-26 campaign. Primarily playing as a two guard, she played in all 32 contests last season for First Baptist. Pouyat averaged 8.9 points and 1.9 steals per game. Her play was integral in the Hurricanes finishing last season with a stellar 29-3 record. She adds the Wheaton offer to previous ones from Maine Maritime, University of New England and LaGrange College.

The recruitment status of this gifted guard from SCISA 4A First Baptist took a major step forward just in the past few days as she was offered by a pair of Maine schools. Maine Maritime Academy as well as the University of New England both extended offers in Pouyat’s direction. Pouyat competed in all 32 games last season for the Hurricanes and averaged 8.9 points and 1.9 steals for a First Baptist team that finished 29-3 en route to 4A state runner-up status. As the 2025-26 season lurks, one can expect First Baptist to once again be among the 4A SCISA contenders.

Pouyat was a worthwhile addition to SCISA 4A First Baptist last season after transferring from Cathedral Academy. She recently landed an offer with Division III LaGrange in Georgia. One can see why the Panthers have her on their radar when watching Pouyat play. Pouyat has played at the varsity level since she was a seventh grader. She averaged 8.9 points and 1.9 steals for First Baptist this past season. Her travel career has included a stint with Charleston Raptors – formerly TMP – and previously with Coastal Select. Pouyat has already experienced her fair share of state success and would love to experience championship euphoria one more time before heading into the collegiate ranks.

Paige returned to the Palmetto State this summer after playing at DME Academy in Florida last spring. Pouyat started off last season at Cathedral Academy before leaving in late November. She surfaced down in the Sunshine State for the 2nd semester last season.
Paige provides more depth to the First Baptist roster this season. She brings an unselfish play and a good feel to the game for the purple and white.
