It looks like the D3 & NAIA programs from other states out of the Midwest saw Elliette Burkle Elliette Burkle 5'8" | CG/PG Woodward | 2027 State IA taking visits and thought to put their name in for a chance at the CG. Burkle just received a handful of offers after taking a few visits the last week into Illinois. We should expect this trend to continue until Burkle ends up committing to her future home. This is a classic situation of team’s seeing someone else in their conference have interest, so they look into that player and now they have some interest as well. When coaches see that a hooper can produce in their conference, their eyes light up and we are seeing that first hand with Burkle right now. I have no idea where she is going to end up when it’s all said and done but whoever locks her in is getting someone who is passionate about the game and dedicated to becoming better as she continues to get older.

E Burkle comes in as the big dawg within her program over the next eight months. For all intents and purposes, this is going to be their go-to prospect. Over the last three years she has produced as a steady rate for Woodward-Granger and now that their Senior Class is gone – it’s wide open for Burkle to take the reigns for her last few months of her high school career. The promise of Burkle has been seen by a few already as she holds some interest from the college level. I’m not sure if she will end up committing before the season takes off. If she does, great for her. If not, she might be able to bring in even more interest with the level of production she will need to come up with this Winter. She might end up touching the basketball every single play for the Hawks. If that’s the case, expect some nasty stat-lines before she calls it a day at this level.

Elliott Burkle of Woodward High School averaged 9 PPG and 5 RPG last season as a Junior at the CG position. She mainly moved all over the floor and played where her team needed her the last few years but her main position would be considered a a CG at the next level. Burkle recently received an offer from D3 – Alverno College out of Wisconsin. Alverno is located in Milwaukee and they compete out of the Coast-to-Coast Conference. This is one of Burkle’s first offers from the next level to keep competing out of high school. If she is dedicated enough and it seems like the right fit, I could see this being a good connection in the end. Who knows what that might lead too but for now, it’s definitely a step in the right direction to keep things moving.

You don’t usually hear a ton of news out of Woodward and their GBB program but when you do as of late, it’s because of Elliette Burkle at the CG position. Burkle does a little bit of everything for her high school program and she has for a few years now. If you need a rebounder, she will sit under and rebound. If you need a scoring threat, she will continuously attempt to score the rock or to get others open around her. If you need someone to lock down on defense, Burkle is your girl. Whenever you have someone like this, you can see the promise they could bring to the next level. They are willing to do whatever it takes to be successful and that’s not always the case, even with college players in today’s game so that’s important from a recruitment perspective.

Elliette Burkle Elliette Burkle 5'8" | CG/PG Woodward | 2027 State IA of Woodward – Granger High School has stepped up the past year to be an avid producer on which-ever court she is performing on. Burkle would be categorized as a SG with an even scoring ability. She doesn’t seem to favor one thing or another other, unless it’s a situation where she needs to score for her high school program. From the looks of it, this is someone that will be on a top All Iowa Attack for her grade level come Spring. If that’s the case, it’ll definitely be nice to see what she can do against some other high level competition. For now though, she has kicked off her Sophomore season on the right note.

Over my years as a scout in the Midwest and I have rarely had the chance to cover Woodward High School up until this point but all that is about to change with their underclassmen group coming in. Someone that will return to their squad from last year, that I expect to have a breakout season is PG – Elliott Burkle. Burkle plays for All Iowa Attack during AAU season and she holds her own against some tough competition so it’s to no surprise that she showed a lot of promise at this Fall Showcase. In real time she demonstrated skill on both sides of the ball, while being a play-maker in every definition of the phrase. At this point her progression over the years will be key but Burkle is in a great spot moving into her Sophomore season.
