had a nice senior season for the Johnston Dragons as a starter, something that is a big honor within a program with a bunch of college commits and athletes spreading across a number of sports. Hampton is a nicely sized forward who is quick and agile with the ability to get to the hoop in a number of ways. She keeps great pace and always has energy when on the floor. On defense she was a nice piece to have as she moved well off of the ball and was usually in a the right position to square up with her opponent or make it over on help side defense in time to take a charge. At the college level Hampton is committed to Iowa to play soccer. Not surprising seeing the type of athlete she was on the basketball court. She should be proud of the high school basketball career she had, with some big things ahead of her on the pitch for the Hawkeyes.

has been flying under the radar for the most part this season with the players she has around her but she is making the most of it for her senior season and it’s been working in her favor. Hampton has been a consistent, efficient, and crucial piece to this group’s success thus far. She has been someone that this team can rely on to get a big time rebound or bucket near the hoop in clutch moments, helping her team have more options and opportunities on both sides of the floor. Her game is really what you see, is what you get. She plays simple and with good pace. She has an act for rebounding the ball while playing physical. She is someone that really helps this team establish a presence on the perimeter at the beginning of games but isn’t afraid to go inside and do the dirty work as well . Going forward she is going to have to keep up her production and play-style because the competition they face ahead really has dominated the paint in their wins, something the Dragons need to stop as soon as they can from tip off.

flys under the radar on this Dragons team as maybe not the best player but definitely an individual who is note worthy and could bring a lot of good to a solid college program in the future. I would describe Hampton as a hard worker with a high motor on both sides of the floor, an efficient player with a soft touch and fundamental footwork near the hoop who possesses the ability to stretch the floor past the 3 point line for her team. On her current Dragons team she comes in as the third or fourth option on offense with all the talent she is surrounded with but in 90% of other programs around the state she would be a stand-out, first option scorer. This is not a slight against Hampton as the few players in front of her are either high division 1 commits or high division 1 prospects. It’ll be fun to see the second half of this year for this team while getting close to the playoffs as teams will start to really hone in their teams best players, which will leave a lot of opportunity for Emma and with her scoring ability, we could see some big second half of the season games from her.

comes up as one of those players that you may not have featured on this team to start this season but by the end of it, you definitely will have to. Hampton, who has been the most efficient and consistent player on this Dragons team, will gear up to keep up her domination down low near the hoop. Coming off of a contest where she tallied up 23 points on 9/15 shooting along with 7 rebounds, I’m sure she is hungry to have another break out game. I love that the coaching staff of the Dragons is keeping it simple in the way that they run things over there. They have a group of players that understand it’s a good things to score the ball efficiently in the post and in Hampton’s case, it’s paying off. I think she has a real possibility to be one of the best forwards in the state when it’s all said and done by the end of this season. She has great length at 6’1, is a senior team captain, has great stamina, and is efficient attacking the rim. When you put this all together it turns into a player that any college coach is going to want in their program in the long run.
