The offensive skillset has been talked about all season, but what continues to stand out to me is her growth on the defensive side. As a freshman, you’re not expected to be a lockdown defender, especially when your minutes are coming at the varsity level, but Eva’s ability to recover and still contest even when she’s beat says a lot. That shows heart and the want to become a strong defender. When both sides of the ball even out, which I have no doubt will happen, the big offers will roll in. High potential.

Yerkovich came into this season with a high upside, and she hasnt dissapointed. A majority of her impact comes from her natural ability and knack to simply hoop, which we can chalk up to youth and her better understanding of how to use her frame. When her game aligns with the structure of the game, you’re looking at a positionless type of prospect that will cause headaches on the opposite side. The talent is there, and the upside is as well. Remember the name.

Eva is one of two underclassmen on this team (according to Maxpreps).. and if you’ve ever watched DGN play, you know that their identity is toughness and relentlessness.. which gives a strong amount of credit to this freshman. The skillset she has is clear, but her gaining some minutes on this varsity program lets us know there’s a ton of confidence and aggression as well.

Eva already has the first needs of a young college prospect, and that’s length and athleticism. Her skillset is wide ranged as well, and her jumper from the outside is effortless. DGN produces a lot of high tier talent, and Yerkovich could be another name to add to that list.
