Kamori’s game has improved each time we have seen her. She continues to get stronger and has become more confident handling the ball. Her versatility is one of her biggest strengths, as she is a player who can contribute at each of the five positions. After spending the past couple of seasons at Rosedale Christian Academy, she will now attend Mercy.

The transition may not be a huge adjustment, as her former coach and several of her teammates will be joining her. It will, however, bring some immediate relevancy to her new high school. Kamori gives Mercy a versatile piece to build around and a player whose game continues to trend upward.

Kamori is deceptively quick and nimble for her size, and she is also a good ball handler. She has the size and strength of a power forward but moves up and down the floor like a guard. Her versatility was on full display as she played all five positions during the showcase and finished with 16 points, scoring in a variety of ways. She created some of her own scoring opportunities by attacking the offensive glass and turning rebounds into second-chance points. Her combination of size, strength, and mobility makes her a tough matchup because she can impact the game from several different spots on the floor.

Kamori rebounded and finished inside like a solid post player. Then she gets out in the open court and moves like a gazelle. Her handle is exceptional, especially for a player of her size. She shoots with a nice touch and is a physical player that seems to get stronger as the games went on. Her versatility allows her to impact the game from multiple positions, creating matchup problems on both ends of the floor. With her combination of size, skill, mobility, and toughness, she has all the tools to be a high-level prospect with tremendous upside.

Kamori was determined not to be stopped. Whether she was pushing the ball in transition after securing a rebound or catching it on the block, she played with an attacking mentality. Her ability to rebound and go coast-to-coast highlighted her versatility. In the half court, defenders had two choices: allow her to overpower them or foul. Kamori showed the potential to become a dominant interior scorer.

Kamori feasted off of post players trying to guard her. Her handle and mobility gave her a clear advantage over interior players trying to defend her as she’d pull them out to the perimeter and drive by them. If they chose not to follow her she showed that she can knock down the jump shot out to the three point line. She had her way with smaller quicker players as she transitioned to take them inside and over power them. She had some type of mismatch for every defender that was sent out to cover her.

Kamori is dangerous when receiving the ball on either elbow. Her knowledge of the game combined with her skillset allows her to read and react to her defender on whether to pull up with her soft touch or shake and bake with her smooth crossover then creating contact once in the paint, as she finished with 18 points against a well defensive team. Defensively, she can guard positions 2-4 in open space while also strong enough to effectively grad timely rebounds, as she finished with 9 in the same game.

Doss dominated defensively for Fairfax Stars 16U EYBL with her strength, shot denial, and ability to completely disrupt opponents around the basket. She also impressed offensively with aggressive downhill attacks from the corner, highlighted by an incredible and-one finish that showcased elite footwork, balance, and focus through contact. Doss continued battling until the final buzzer, knocking down a three-pointer and consistently bringing energy and toughness on both ends of the floor.

Kamori was effective using her strength inside to score and rebound. She showed her range by knocking down multiple three pointers in the two games. She 14 points in the quarter final win against St. Frances but, then topped that with a 23 point 11 rebound performance in the loss to Bullis which were both team highs.

Kamori has been on a tear lately, handing out work to whoever is in front of her. She’s a unique player with a versatile skill set that allows her to overpower smaller players in the paint and blow by bigger players on the perimeter. She is a threat from behind the three-point line so defenders have to respect her out there. She’s a walking double double at this point.

Watching Kamori play, it is hard to believe she is only a sophomore. She carries herself like an upperclassman, playing with a smooth sense of calm. Kamori is an effective scorer throughout the mid-range. She is comfortable dribbling through traffic in both full-court and half-court settings. Her size allows her to shield off any defensive pressure.
