About Kamori

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is versatile and adaptable. I can drive aggressively to the basket, pull up for a mid-range or outside shot, and use my awareness of the game and my surroundings to make smart decisions. I focus on reading the defense, finding the best scoring opportunities, and creating plays that help my team succeed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m competitive, focused and always striving to improve. I Stay positive under pressure and use challenges as motivation to work harder. I’m a team player who values communication, discipline, and effort and I’m always looking for ways to help my teammates to our success.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Track, I ran the 100m, 200m, 400m and was part of the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Playing basketball has helped me build strong leadership skills. On the court, I’ve learned how to communicate clearly, support my teammates, and stay focused under pressure. I’ve also had chances to step up as a leader by encouraging other during tough games.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I’ve faced a significant challenges when I tore my ACL. It was both physically and mentally tough. I had surgery and months of physical therapy, which meant being away from the sport I love. But through that process, I developed patience, resilience, and a stronger mindset. It taught me how to push through setbacks and come back even stronger.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that will challenge me both academically and athletically. Academically, I’m interested in math and science, so I’m looking for a school with strong programs in those areas that will help me build a solid foundation for a future career in fields like engineering, technology, or healthcare. In basketball, I want a program that’s competitive, team-focused, and has coaches w

Kamori was effective using her strength inside to score and rebound. She showed her range by knocking down multiple three pointers in the two games. She 14 points in the quarter final win against St. Frances but, then topped that with a 23 point 11 rebound performance in the loss to Bullis which were both team highs.

Kamori has been on a tear lately, handing out work to whoever is in front of her. She’s a unique player with a versatile skill set that allows her to overpower smaller players in the paint and blow by bigger players on the perimeter. She is a threat from behind the three-point line so defenders have to respect her out there. She’s a walking double double at this point.

Watching Kamori play, it is hard to believe she is only a sophomore. She carries herself like an upperclassman, playing with a smooth sense of calm. Kamori is an effective scorer throughout the mid-range. She is comfortable dribbling through traffic in both full-court and half-court settings. Her size allows her to shield off any defensive pressure.

Kamori exploded for 34 points and 17 rebounds against Riverdale Baptist on Monday night. This was a breakout performance in what has been a solid season for her so far. She was dominant in the paint where she bullied smaller defenders and showed off good footwork and a nice touch. She also showed off her range from three, but the most impressive thing was her work on the glass.

Kamori brings a college-ready frame and the versatility to play multiple positions, though she shines most in the mid-range. Her quiet yet commanding presence as a sophomore provides stability, and that leadership could help guide Rosedale on a deep playoff run.

Kamori had a strong outing in this one. She played physical in the paint and drew fouls throughout the game. She showed off her range with a 3 pointer but did her damage at the foul line. 8 of 11 points were free throws because St. Frances had trouble matching her physicality.

Kamori has excellent size and the versatility to transition from the post to the perimeter and back. She has the ability to knock down outside shots and finish inside. She also can grab the rebound to start and finish the break, Defensively she can be disruptive in the paint with her length. Kamori is a newcomer that drops into the top twenty at #13.

Kamori looked like a post but as she handled the ball in transition and brought it down some at the point she showed us that she is capable at multiple positions. She attacked the boards well and was able to get some scores off the offensive glass.

Doss grabbed my attention immediately with her takes to the basket!  The second she decides to drive inside, its over! Powerful, she will come at you, and her frame can handle just about anything! (Below with ball)

Kamori has been in the gym for most of her life as her older sister was a skilled player in college.  She was a promising player six years ago in the MAG League All Star Game, now to see her at nearly 5’10” it’s hard to believe this is the same kid the barely past my waistline.  St. Timothy’s have been playing some good basketball blowing through most of the teams on their schedule last year.  Adding Doss could be the missing link to sweep the season.
