Kennedi has the speed to run the floor and the ability to get to the basket and do so with the smoothest of strides. She is a cerebral player who can read the floor and make instinctive plays on both sides of the ball. Her outside jumper is smooth and has become a strength on the floor. Tatum is smooth in transition and gets a lot of buckets off of steals and fast breaks. She also plays with a quiet chip on her shoulder. She welcomes being doubted and uses it as motivation to raise her level of play.

Tatum glides on the basketball court and impacts both sides of the floor in the process. Her offensive game provides scoring from behind the arc, from attacking the rim, and lighting it up in transition. Defensively, Tatum is a menace on the ball; she makes a lot of plays in the passing lanes and she creates turnovers with her active hands. Tatum impacts the game I. A lot of ways, and what makes her special is that she doesn’t force the action. She makes solid decisions on the floor and does whatever it takes to win.

Kennedi Tatum Kennedi Tatum 5'8" | SG/CG Ribault | 2028 State FL is one of the top young guards in the 2028 class, and she has the résumé to back it up. Tatum is another prospect who can change the course of a game with her all-around impact. Offensively, she puts constant pressure on defenses with her quick first step, reliable perimeter shooting, and speed in transition. She is a smooth, fluid guard who glides across the floor while playing under control. On the defensive end, Tatum is just as disruptive. She stays in front of opposing guards, plays the passing lanes well, and consistently creates opportunities for her team with her anticipation and activity. Although she missed the majority of the summer because of an injury, Tatum is expected to return soon and should once again be one of the premier playmakers in the 2028 class.

She attacked the rim effectively, earned trips to the free-throw line, and handled contact in transition without backing down. Tatum played very well over a three game period and showcased a nice shooting touch from the perimeter. Her defense was very good and she showed a lot of speed and an ability to play physical on both ends of the floor.

She can knock down the three, make plays in transition, and impact the game in multiple ways. She’s effective in crunch time, defends well, and can get to the rim to score. With a reliable jump shot and strong basketball IQ, Tatum is a versatile guard who understands how to impact the game on both ends of the floor.

Kennedi Tatum Kennedi Tatum 5'8" | SG/CG Ribault | 2028 State FL knocked down 4 threes in one game this week to earn player of the game. Then she comes out and helps lead Potters House to a victory against Power House Bolles. Tatum is a clutch young player who plays well in the big moments. Sometimes it’s a defensive play – like a steal and coast-to-coast layup through contact. The sophomore guard is a playmaker who makes game-changing plays and it’s not just sometimes. Her game has grown to the point where you know she is going to make something happen – as she did against Bolles in the “game of the week”.

She has an ability to take challenges and turn them into fuel. Tell her she can’t do something, and she’ll quietly go out and prove you wrong and smile as if there wasn’t any extra motivation. Tatum embraces competition in every setting and never backs down, no matter who’s across from her. She has been doing that since the 8th grade when she played a key role to help her team get to the final 4 in Lakeland. In Louisville this summer, Tatum carried her “underdog mentality” into the Run for the Roses tournament and walked away with an “All Tournament” selection, showing once again that her game elevates when the stage gets tougher. She’s the kind of player who thrives in the moment — driven by a quiet competitiveness and an inner fire that you can’t coach. In addition to the mental game, she can shoot the three with consistency, can get to the rim, she is fast and can lock down guards and forwards. Tatum has the physical and the mental game and college coaches are paying attention. She has several D-1 offers and Tatum didn’t just get better- her game is still expanding.

Kennedi has jumped up double-digit spots in the rankings and cracked the Top 25 and even received her first D1 offer from USC Upstate over the summer. Her energy, effort, and versatility will continue to keep her near the top of this 2028 list. She rebounds the ball well for her position, plays tough defense, and shares the rock unselfishly with her teammates which can be three rare things that colleges love to see. Her defensive tenacity, quickness, and athleticism stood out as she hounded ball-handlers and disrupted passing lanes. Offensively, she attacked the rim with purpose and had the handles to create in the open floor. In transition, her speed and creative finishes kept defenders backpedaling.

Kennedi Tatum Kennedi Tatum 5'8" | SG/CG Ribault | 2028 State FL just received her first offer along with her sister Londyn. No surprises – the young Tatum has been on that projectory since the moment she stepped onto a high school court and started collecting signature “Ws” while just in the 7th grade. She helped her team get to the State Championship while still officially a middle schooler. Tatum brings tons to the table: athleticism, experience, a nice outside shot, a potent midrange, and an high basketball IQ. Tatum is coming off of an all-tournament performance in Louisville, but that was to be expected. She is use to the big moments and the accolades that come with it. She has been there and done that since Day 1.
