Kennedy got an overtime win on Saturday night against #11 Marion in a highly anticipated battle. This game is somewhat a rivalry. I’m not sure if the girl’s programs look at it like that but school wise, they are close in proximity and usually have some close contests, no matter which sport they are competing in. The final score of this game after OT was 79-78. No matter who own or lost, I don’t think it matters too much. This was an intense game in which both programs got to give it their all. That is a great way to compete moving into the Playoff. There were a few standout players for both sides but the one that stood out the most is SG, Kyla Wright Kyla Wright 5'7" | SG Cedar Rapids Kennedy | 2024 IA . Wright ended the game with 30 Points on 50% shooting, along with creating 6 turnovers against her counterpart. If the Cougars want to win some meaningful contests before this season comes to an end, Wright needs to continue to play at this rate. She has proven that she can step up in the moment so I’m sure she is going to get her chances. If she can make the most of those, this team could upset some programs over these next few weeks.
