Larissa is long, athletic, and a fierce competitor. She racked up over 1,000 points and rebounds at LakeVille Memorial with her smooth finishes around the rim, relentless rebounding, and explosive speed in transition.

was all-conference for LakeVille Memorial last season and she has picked up right where she left off. Larissa needed 30 points Thursday against Perry to reach 1,000 for her career and that’s exactly what she got. Larissa had 30 points, 17 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 blocks with her 1,000th point coming on a made free throw in the fourth. Larissa is an athletic guard who can jump out of the gym; she will be an outstanding addition to the Oakland Community College Raiders following her senior season.

once again led the charge for the Cobras Sunday on offense. Her penetration and downhill moves make guarding her straight up a challenge. She shot 45% from the field in game one, finishing with 10 points. 2024

led the Cobras with 4 assists, making the right reads to help the offense be successful. Larissa also led the team with 4 steals. She will be the focal point of Lakeville’s squad this winter and an excellent addition to the college she chooses in the coming weeks.

and the Cobras had a humbling first game against Dow and the entire team did not shoot well. They scored at a much higher clip in their second game and Larissa was huge in that effort. Larissa led the team in steals, shot 50% from the field, and went 4/4 from the charity strike.

Gibson (#20) stands out. Her athleticism on the court leaves an impression and she put it on display Saturday at David Barns. A highlight of the day happened when Larissa jumped out of her shoes for a defensive rebound and then outran everyone to the rim, finishing the layup through a foul. She “can” score plenty, but it was her passing abilities that propelled her forward Saturday. Larissa zipped a pass 3/4 court to a streaking teammate behind the defense. She collapsed defenders on her drive then dished to Duthie on the wing for 3 points. Her inbound passes were crisp and she can deliver balls into the post from different arm angles. Larissa drove twice to the middle past her defender, forcing fouls on her layups; she blew past her defender baseline forcing another foul. Gibson has the potential to be an all-conference caliber player in the MMAC this winter.

will be one of the most athletic players on the court. She flies down the floor switching hands and has an effective 3-point shot, but equally impressive downhill game. She hits the hole hard and puts it in a higher gear than her defenders. There are few players who can guard her man to man and it will be interesting to see if the shut down defenders on the West side can keep her contained. Larissa has length and touch to finish from different angles around the rim, but has vision to find open teammates. She will make an impression at this event and from what I’ve observed, she can handle the spotlight. Read more about Larissa here.

An exceptional volleyball athlete, it was Gibson’s basketball abilities that had the coaches talking during the mid-July Northwood team camp. At a lengthy 5’9, Gibson displayed the quickness and tight handles needed to drive through multiple defenders on her path to the rim using her footwork. Larissa ran the point, but could effectively spread the ball around using various deliveries. She displayed the poise to find open teammates when the double teams converged. Gibson shoots with a high-releasing follow through utilizing the step back: she can also blow by you with a dangerous sweep or jab step. Still curious? Check out these plays from camp!
