I am anxious to see Maine again this Winter, as she unfortunately missed a lot of time due to a knee injury, including this Spring and Summer grassroots season. She is a strong, physical, extremely hard-working forward. She is one of those kids who grew early on, but she did a nice job of building her perimeter skillset, plus she works hard at the defensive end of the floor so she can earn minutes. I think the combination of her work ethic and her understanding of the game make Maine someone small colleges would enjoy.

To be completely honest, I wasn’t sure what to think about Maine at this time a year ago. But she has really grown on me, and she has become a favorite of mine to watch. At the end of the day, she always finds a way to be productive. She is a strong kid, she always plays with a motor, and she plays much taller than she is. She doesn’t mind physicality, she gets inside to rebound and willingly helps defend the paint, but she has also shown the ability to step outside and defend bigger guards and wings. Her touch around the perimeter has improved as well, but she’s probably still most effective in the mid-post. I definitely think she’s a “fit” kid as a recruit, but she’s the type of kid that you can win games with because of her attitude and approach to the game.

Maine was on a very deep and experienced Lady Royal squad this past Winter, but she still managed to carve out a few minutes here and there to build experience. She has a strong frame, she’s a solid North/South athlete, and she plays with a really nice motor. She is willing to be physical, and she outrebounds her size. Over the last couple of years, she has worked on becoming more dynamic handling the ball, and she has made her jumper more consistent.
