Haylee is on an intriguing grassroots team consisting of a few 2028s, but a lot of 2029 and 2030 big-time talents. She will be seen, without question, but she’s one of those kids who is fitting a role, and she does it well. She is an excellent outside shooter, she has a quick release when she gets set, and she is able to hide away from everyone else and just knock down open shot after open shot. I think she fits a need for a lot of colleges, and it’s just a matter of time before she makes 8 to 10 3-pointers in a game and her interest takes off. Look for her to have a breakout Winter, too!

While Hamilton Southeastern has graduated a lot of talent, and they have a lot more in their feeder system, this 2028 class has always been described as just “solid”…as if that isn’t enough. Well, now it’s their turn to step into critical roles these next two years, and Haylee has really stepped up this Spring for an elite travel team. She is long, fluidly athletic, and hard-working. She plays with a good basketball IQ, and she has proven to be a problem as a perimeter shooter you must find in transition. I think she could be one of the bigger surprises during the 2026-2027 high school season as a breakout player.

Haylee Mezera Haylee Mezera 5'8" | SG Hamilton Southeastern | 2028 IN is steadily carving out her place in HSE’s rotation, and game by game she’s proving to be a reliable spark off the bench. Her confidence continues to grow, and it shows in the poise she plays with and the decisions she makes on both ends of the floor.

In the matchup against Brownsburg, Mezera contributed 5 points, but her impact went beyond the box score. She continues to be highly efficient, especially from the perimeter—she’s currently shooting 50% from three, a testament not only to her shooting ability but also to the confidence she’s gaining within HSE’s system.

As a sophomore competing for minutes on one of the state’s most talented rosters, Mezera’s growth is especially encouraging. Her development is benefiting both her individually and the program as she prepares for an even bigger role in the years ahead.

Haylee is set to play an important role for the Royals program as a sophomore. Last season, she contributed significantly for the HSE JV team and is expected to be a key addition at the guard position alongside KK Holman, Kayla Stidham Kayla Stidham 6'0" | SF Hamilton Southeastern | 2026 State IN , and Antonette Green Antonette Green 5'5" | PG Hamilton Southeastern | 2026 State IN . This past AAU season, Haylee was part of the IGB 15U GUAA team that captured the Select 40 National Championship. A quick and dynamic guard, she can attack the rim effectively and knock down open shots, making her a versatile offensive threat for her team.
