Jones has been a remarkable rebounder for the Mustangs this season, consistently contributing on both ends of the floor. Jones is chalking up 8.1 RPG, which is the second-best on her team and a strong mark for a guard playing against tougher competition. Jones’s poise with the rock in her hands results in constant offensive movement, alongside minimizing turnovers. Her rebounding tenacity alongside her scoring makes Jones one of Mullen’s all-around impact players this season.

Jones’ skillset is versatile and well-rounded, as she creates plenty of space off the dribble and utilizes her 6’1 frame to dominate against her matchup. Beyond scoring, she plays with strong defensive intensity and elite court vision, often initiating transition opportunities with active hands and smart positioning. Jones’s poise in late-game situations and willingness to take big shots have made her a dependable leader despite Mullen’s 6-13 campaign thus far.

Jones powered Mullen to a crucial win over Smoky Hill with a 23-point gem. She was aggressive all night, attacking the basket and getting to the free-throw line, where she was a perfect 11-11. Jones also splashed in a pair of threes to help Mullen pull away in the second quarter. Her stat-stuffing night included 9 steals and 7 rebounds, capping a truly outstanding performance.

Kenzie enters the season as one of the best defenders in the conference and one of the most athletic players in the Centennial League. She can pick up 94 feet and apply constant pressure while still carrying a heavy load offensively for Mullen night in and night out. Her two-way impact makes her a matchup problem for any team in the league.

Kenzie didn’t pile up points early but her impact on the game was there for Mullen. Her presence on the floor created spacing and opportunities as she found teammates for open looks and easy chances at the rim. As the game went on, she eventually got herself going offensively rounding out a strong all-around performance.

Makenzie put on a defensive show getting her hands on nearly every pass and disrupting everything in the lanes. She applied pressure on the defensive end and turned it into offense with her ability to drive to the rim. Whether finishing through contact or finding an open teammate she kept the defense guessing.

Do not sleep on Jones as she is as good as they come. She is one of the talented young players playing up as a 16U kid. Jones is a high quality shot taker and her efficiency is off the charts. Every local Colorado school should be all over her. She is a no brainer!

Arguably the best on-ball defender in the state regardless of class or position, McKenzie Jones thrives by taking opponents out of rhythm. She breaks defenders down quickly, finishing at the rim with either hand and elite body control. Add in her improved three-point shooting and you’ve got a high-level two-way athlete with game-changing potential.

Jones is running with a loaded Utah Lady Prospects team that can get that ball moving from side to side and that is when Jones was able to take advantage of closeouts and a lot of space as she was attacking the rim and making things happen. Impressive defensively and she was also causing havoc trapping and just getting up and down the floor hounding ball handlers. She is a HM talent.
