About Mattea

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to play at a fast aggressive pace both on offense and defense. Defensively I like to guard the other team's best player and be a shutdown defender. Offensively, I look to score from all levels: shooting the 3, midrange, getting to the hoop and the free throw line. By getting to the next level and forcing help I create shots for teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an intense competitor that hates to lose as much if not more than I love to win. I like to have fun with my teammates and playing the game, but we have fun by competing our best.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in National Honor Society and also serve as a Discipleship Group Leader for our School.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed into a leader on and off the court. I believe in leading by example and caring about others. Part of caring about others is setting very high expectations and believing we can reach them together! I also look for ways to mentor young girls in our school. I do private basketball lessons and things like simply sitting by them at a school event when I see them.

Mattea Kassebaum Mattea Kassebaum Mattea Kassebaum 5'8" | PG/SG Lincoln Christian | 2025 State NE has put together a senior season to remember with her Lincoln Christian High School team and that is a big reason as to why she has gone from unranked to #11 out of the 2025 Class. Kassebaum controls tempo as a PG, she has an uncanny ability to create at a high rate for others off of the attack, she defends her position really well with a high motor, and she never seems to give up on a play or her team – no matter the situation. At this point in time, Kassebaum has offers from every college Division out there. After her team’s state run this next week, I’m sure she will lock in to figure out her future following high school.
