A name that many might not know, who I’d definitely keep an eye on moving into this Winter is Mauve Ryan Mauve Ryan CG St. Albert | 2029 IA of CB – St. Albert’s High School. Ryan is a fast guard with a smart head on her shoulders. She takes after her sister in being a play-maker and someone that can make an instant impact within a team’s system when used in the correct ways. Ryan should see JV minutes as a Freshman this Winter and maybe even some Varsity bench time. It’s going to be tough to see the Varsity floor consistently for any Freshman coming in with the Saints coming off of a 1A State Title and returning basically everyone on roster. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel so if they just take care of business like last Winter, they should be in a favorable spot to go back2back but we will see.

Mauve Ryan Mauve Ryan CG St. Albert | 2029 IA has demonstrated this season some steady improvement at the guard position. Ryan is a player that can defend other guards really well. She never seems to lose a step on anyone that she is guarding and she is extremely tough to get by in 1v1 situations with her awareness on that side of the ball. She is also someone with a calming presence. She can get her team set and back into their system whenever havoc might occur. I’m not sure if Ryan will play varsity ball right away this Winter with the Saints because of how many they return but we will see. She will be a varsity starter before you know it, it just might not be this year and that’s okay.
