Mika Davis
About Mika

Outstanding impact on defensive. Smothered guards on the ball by either locking up guards herself, or helping to trap. Erased shots at the back end too, with her plus wingspan, good athleticism and great motor. Kept it simple but effective on offense, rolling to the hoop for scores. While also hitting the offensive glass. Mika and her twin sister Jada were rewarded for their high energy efforts by picking up offers from Tulsa. Who had two coaches at most of their games. Expect Davis to soar even higher this winter.

Outstanding athlete that has a high level protype guard size. 6’1 that can handle the ball very comfortably never seemed rattled with pressure. Good vision as if she is reading the situation before it happens. Strong finishes at the basket with a sidestep and extending with her length at the bucket. The shooting ability from the 3-point line demands defense respect leading many defenders on an island.
Not many times on a team can you make the statement that your point guard could lead your team in blocks shots but Mika that could be the case. All-around player that honestly has the capabilities to record quadruple double double. 10 (point, rebound, steals, and assist) 2028 class that has Union thinking Gold Ball this season

Long athletic 6’1 combo guard that can play the 1-3 positions on the floor. Outside shots along with mid-range pull up jumpers were impressive. Transition vision up the floor was showcased with long passes on a tope to a cutter or rim runner. The length on defense caused issues as well. The height/length and smooth play caught my attention.

One half of the Davis twin’s combo for Union. A very skilled combo guard that plays at a high level every time I have watched her play. Joined by her sister Jada and several other very talented players Union looks to make a serious run for the Gold Ball this season.

Davis and her twin (Jada) anchored an impressive day for the Lady Redhawks. She had a signature sequence in their Saturday evening win, which showed her complete skillset. It started on the offensive glass. Then it was her defensive versatility, covering guards and forcing steals. After those steals, or defensive rebounds, she keeps her focus down the court, making the simple but important pitch ahead passes. Leading to easy scores for her teammates. While also running the floor to either get putbacks or score as a trailer. Finally, she has A+ energy on the bench, cheering on her teammates when out of the game.

Nice all around painting of Davis’ game. Unselfish player, who drives to pass, while also making the simple but important ball reversals and pitch aheads in transition. Complete with defensive plays to hound smaller guards, or be competitive around the rim. Off the ball movement into openings, and even post up scoring further point out the variety of ways she can impact the game. Another very high upside example of the outstanding depth in Oklahoma’s Class of 2028.

Tall combo guard that skill set has continued to develop since the first time seeing her at PGH Dynasty Kickoff. At 6’0 she is a match up problem for a guard cause she demonstrated strong post up skills. When a post guarded Mika she stretched the defender by knocking down the outside shot. A high level player that could be on coaches radar during her freshman season. To read more about Mika check out the articles below.

I got to see the Davis twins matched up against each other in the 3 on 3 work at the start of the showcase. Mika projects to be able to play inside better than her sister, who has a more well rounded guard game. Throws great outlet passes, and still has an array of advanced guard skills for her 6 foot frame.

Long athletic combo guard that can play outside and inside. Showed her versatility in the 3 on 3 play. Posted up the defender then scored with a physical pound dribble to create her space finishing with a nice move. Then showed the versatility by stepping out and knocking down the 3. Great cuts off the ball with hands ready to catch using her length to score while avoiding the block. Excellent runner in the open court getting out ahead for the easy layups. Rebounder that hops grabbing several out of the air. Needed no outlet on transition offense breaks as she can handle the ball in the open floor. Tulsa Union has some good players returning to go along with a strong freshman class

Mika brings size at the combo guard spot. Strong ball handling skills and great vision up the floor that can help speed up the offense. The thing that I like about Mika and Jada is the defense they bring. Quick, long and tough.
