Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Kaiya displayed all the qualities that make her one of the most complete point guards in this class at the PGH MI Colleg Tour with Mystics 16U P24. She put on a masterclass as a facilitator, defender, and put points on the board. Kaiya finished at the rim off two feet, anticipated a missed shot, zoomed in to grab the offensive rebound, then finished with a smooth reverse layup. Kaiya pushed the tempo, dished out many assists, and generated steals with her pesky ball pressure.

Her relentless effort, constant communication, unselfish presence, and uptempo style consistently stand out. Kaiya works tirelessly on the perimeter to apply ball pressure, creates space off the dribble, reverses the court with her strong passes, makes the hustle plays, and is capable of scoring at all three levels. She’s an energetic court general with all the fundamental tools and competitive qualities.

Kaiya ignited the Chemics with her scrappy defensive pressure, perimeter shooting, determined rebounding, and pinpoint passes. She created steals and delivered dimes to teammates in transition. Kaiya penetrated gaps, caused the help to rotate, and made the extra pass for assists. She drained a smooth straightaway three in transition and another deep triple from the wing. Kaiya’s anticipation led to multiple steals and she raced up the court for a breakaway layup. Kaiya pursued the ball hard off the rim, used every ounce of her strength to gain the advantage, and had several offensive rebounds. She finished put-backs with her right and left hand off two feet. Kaiya is set to make a major impact in her sophomore season at Midland, bringing maturity and poise that far exceed her age. Kaiya was one of the most vocal and impactful players at Wade’s World Fall Girls Showcase, commanding the floor with confidence and leadership well beyond her years. The point guard brings an infectious energy — always communicating, organizing, and motivating her teammates — truly an on-court extension of a coach. She’s lightning quick off the dribble, slicing through defenders with ease, and her vision and passing instincts make everyone around her better. Even off the ball, she made smart, purposeful cuts, including a smooth inside-hand finish at the rim. Defensively, she was just as locked in, creating chaos in passing lanes and picking pockets with perfect timing. Kaiya’s combination of leadership, skill, and hustle sets her apart as a true floor general.

Kaiya was a clear standout at the Ferris Elite Camp, earning the respect of everyone in the gym with her leadership, poise, and basketball IQ—so much so that she was Coach Mal’s top choice and likely the favorite among players and coaches alike.
Her communication skills are at an elite level. I have never seen such a strong voice out of a sophomore. Her communication and IQ level makes her the best point guard I have seen and she makes every person around her better. As a sophomore she is already the best leader on the court at all time.

Kaiya turned heads all day at the Ferris Elite Camp with her leadership, intelligence, and constant communication on the court. As a savvy guard, she played like a true floor general—an extension of the coach with a deep understanding of the game. Her decision-making was consistently sharp, always putting her team in the best position to succeed. Ferris player Kadyn, who coached her team, named her MVP, and by the end of the day, Kaiya had the entire Ferris roster talking about her impressive performance and presence.

Kaiya’s basketball IQ, fundamental skills, leadership, and court presence separate her as a prospect. At the SVSU Elite Camp, I made the statement that if Kaiya were not out there, the gym would have been as silent as a library. Her communication, even during 3v3 games on defense, was non-stop. Kaiya continuously showered teammates with positive words and actively talked throughout the camp. That’s how college players and teams communicate. She demonstrated a high-level understanding of the drills and had great chemistry with her teammates during 3v3. Kaiya scored through contact, threw accurate passes, pursued rebounds, and played great defense. She’s an outstanding point guard prospect, and I’m excited to watch her with the Chemics this winter.

Kaiya plays in a higher gear, and that’s one of the elements that set her apart at Northwood Team Camp. She changes directions with explosive steps and fast dribbles, which keep defenders on their heels. Kaiya drove with a burst down the baseline to score a floater and finished a layup with her left going full speed. She created space with an inside-out dribble and swished a three-pointer from the top of the key. Kaiya used lightning-quick retreat dribbles, then a sudden crossover to blow by her defender for a layup. She won the battle for an offensive rebound and scored the put-back. Kaiya ripped the ball away clean on defense and turned steals into transition buckets. Kaiya dished a skip pass, got it back, and drilled the straightaway three off the catch. She puts the same effort into offense and defense, never stops talking, and plays hard all the time.

Kaiya is a scrappy point guard whose energy and impact helped Midland win the league title. She earned SVL First Team All-Conference honors and was an excellent facilitator at Mystics Get Ready. She penetrated gaps with her dribble, caused the defense to collapse, and dished strong passes to open teammates. Kaiya makes the right play, increases the tempo, knows where the ball should go, and causes havoc with her defensive pressure. Her intensity, enthusiasm, and communication are a great example for others to follow. Kaiya scored a soft floater off the dribble and is a threat from the perimeter for Mystics 2028-S40.
