is a highly versatile combo guard who displayed talent, a burst of energy, skill, and grace throughout the entire tournament. Waco has several great players, and I am not taking anything away from any of them, but when Rubianna JonesRubiannaJones

plays her best every game with confidence, she is the best player in Waco. Rubi is a three-level scorer who can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court, and she has a natural ability to create space and keep defenders off balance.
Her flexibility lets her move seamlessly between positions, giving the Trojans valuable court depth and reliable perimeter ball-handling whenever her team needs to shift tempo. Literally, Rubi can play all five positions on the court. Defensively, she is just as good, and her skill to rebound and start the break was off the charts. As she gains varsity experience and refines her transition scoring, Jones has the tools to develop into a prominent threat for the Lady Trojans and the best player in Waco over the next few seasons. Rubi Jones can absolutely play at the collegiate level.
Jones gave me a great first look at the Heart Of Texas back in May as she made my “Meat And Potatoes” Tip Sheet see evaluations here yet she added some gravy at the PGH Sophomore ID Camp see evaluations here as she dominated inside the paint on both ends, rebounded on both as well yet seeing her handle the ball in the open court afterwards and threading the needle in transition was really nice
Jones makes her third Tip Sheet from me, and you know what they say: “third time is a charm”. Well, so many things being said in this GBB stuff aren’t, but boy oh boy, she knocked me out see evaluations here. She’s strong and powerful on both ends and understands how to use her frame, but she does things fluidly, and her agility on defense JUST DID IT for me. She scored using the “hands and footwork”; she finished off the dribble, scored on putbacks, but her crossover in transition “dropped the mic”
Jones made my “Meat and Potatoes” Tip Sheet at the Heart of Texas this season see evaluation here, and this is why I encourage players to attend different settings that I’m covering, because as much as I liked her back in May, well, “May the Force Be With” because she was sending messages early. Her “hands and footwork” to score was among the best at the event, as well as her drop step; let me drop #THROWBACK for that. She moved fluidly on defense, switching, playing the passing lane and picket pockets, plus she went AFTA everything off the rim
Jones also gave me a nice first look as she understands the simple things that turn out to be big, like using her frame on both ends, getting positioning to rebound, and starting the outlet. She ran the floor, played solid defense, and scored around the basket
