About Sadie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a high energy small forward known for high basketball IQ and relentless style of play. On the defensive end I thrive on applying pressure anticipating passes and forcing turnovers. Offensively, I excel in transition always looking to push the pace and create scoring opportunities for myself and my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a self-motivated individual who thrives on challenges and I value constructive feedback as a tool for improvement. I genuinely enjoy connecting with others and building meaningful relationships. My strength and resilience are deeply rooted in my Catholic faith, which grounds my values and purpose. I intentionally surround myself with positive people to create an environment of growth.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was the president of my school's National Junior Honor Society. I am my classes president for student council. I was selected as a counselor at my Catholic church camp. I am also working towards getting my varsity letter in volunteering.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My leadership style is rooted in hard work and connection—I lead by example, listen well, and know how to bring out the best in others. I enjoy being around people, know how to read the room, and help create a positive, cooperative mood wherever I go. All of these skills help create good teamwork. I have developed a sense of service and community and am always willing to show up and give 100%.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Becoming an elite young athlete is exciting, but it definitely comes with its challenges. There's pressure to perform and constantly improve, which can be mentally and physically tough. Balancing training, school, and social life isn't easy— but it is a welcome challenge to reach my goals. I am very grateful to say that beyond these things I haven't experienced any significant obstacles yet.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that checks a few key boxes: 1. Division I or II basketball program where I can realistically earn playing time. 2. A strong academic path towards biology, sports medicine, or physical therapy. 3. A coaching and support staff culture that aligns with my personality and high standards.

Romens took a bit of time to get acclimated to the showcase environment, but was a key part of the action for Team 5 once she got going. Sadie’s ability to make well-timed cuts and set solid screens created plenty of movement on the offensive end. Using her superior length and athleticism, the 5’10 guard/forward cleaned up on the offensive glass, leading to extra touches for her team. The Stewartville freshman also displayed her ability to shoot from both the midrange and beyond the arc with a smooth, high-arcing release.
