Lane Tech will not be overlooked this year, and Scarlett could find herself playing heavy varsity minutes, and if she does, she will be the perfect piece to add energy and pressure. She operates off the mindset of “I’ll just work harder than you.” She doesn’t seem to have an ego.. more like “I want to contribute to the win, whether it’s scoring or out hustling everyone.” Players like this are game changers and can be the pushing point for a winning season.

Scarlett brings more than what you’re looking for as a coach.. she plays hard, she fills roles, and gives her all on each possession. I’ve mentioned before how her ability to be versatile is one of her most impactful qualities, and as her offensive skillset widens, she’ll be a player to follow over the next couple of years.

Harris was our honorable mention player of the day. It was rare for her to make a mistake. What stood out was her ability to fill whatever role was needed during each possession. She had stretches where she scored 8 straight points and others where her focus was purely on defense. There’s something special about players who keep the game simple and effective. High potential.
