Expert Analysis

Avani has continued to be one of the more standout talents in her class, and this past weekend only created more separation. She looks quicker with the ball, her decisions are sharper, and her confidence is through the roof. Even on drives, she is getting through contact without slowing down or getting knocked off her path. Stronger and even more athletic. Colleges will continue to come with Division I offers.

Williams has shown some growth this year and seems to be on pace for a bigger summer season. She has all the tools to be one of the best players in this state, and honestly she can get there before senior season. The length is there, the frame has time to develop, and the athleticism is present.

Williams will be in the running for a lot of individual awards this year, but that’ll come second to the wins this program will stack up with what she brings to the game. Offensively, she can be effective at all levels, with and without the ball. Defensively, her length and athleticism will definitely play a part in her slowing matchups down or messing up a team’s offense.

Avani is nowhere near her peak, and she’s already one of the better scorers in this class. If she continues to grow and the muscle follows, she can find her way in the top tier players in the state, let alone her class.

Williams has a high energy style of play, and she uses it in both the half court and full court. She is tough on the drive, and in the open court, she doesn’t need a ton of fancy dribbles to get to the rim… one of the strongest prospects in the state outside of her class.

Super athletic wing runs the floor really well. Can play multiple positions, just needs to be a little more aggressive going for the ball in the paint. Smooth perimeter shot, good catch and shoot player with a good follow-through. Look for her to continue to get better!

Williams is definitely ahead of her time, and that shows off the court as well. She plays the game with a ton of aggression, but not with emotion. She’s balanced and steady, never getting too high or too low. Even with an offer already under her belt, she’s still approaching each game with the same mindset. The skillset speaks for itself, but the fact that she is fully coachable is what really sets her apart.

Williams secured an offer from Dayton this past month, but even before then, it’s been clear that she is one of the most talented players in this class. Her length and agility stick out more to me than her ability to score. She is never in the same spot for more than she needs to be, and seems to have a strong sense of timing and awareness. A player to keep an eye on as she progresses.

In Game 1 of her high school season, Avani showed why she’s one of the top prospects, let alone players, in this class. She has a motor and energy for the game that you can’t teach, paired with an aura that makes teammates want to suit up with her. It wouldn’t be surprising if offers started rolling in before the end of the school year.

First Team Selection – Williams had a handful of moments in the 5v5 games where she shined on almost every possession. She runs the floor with great speed and pace, and has a midrange game that opens up the entire floor for her to be a threat from all angles. Usually, players tend to decline as the day goes on, but Williams seemed to get better in each game, which shows her potential as a strong prospect in this class. Keep an eye on this kid when her high school season begins.
