Roe’s coming out party was at the Top 250 some years ago. It’d be fun to watch her play it back one last time. Roe is simply one of the best on ball defenders in the state.

. She’s that to the extreme. Roe won’t just get a big stop on the perimeter, she’ll probably force a handful of turnovers. She has an elite eye for the ball and hand quickness.

Ignore the number next to her name. It doesn’t speak to her talent or value to her team. To start, Roe is an elite playmaker on the defensive end of the floor. She has great vision, quick feet, endless energy and lightning fast hands. Roe has solid handles and speed that helps her create offensively.

Tessa is fun to watch on the defensive end of the floor. She understands how to play the passing lanes and will get her hands on the ball. She is calm under pressure on the offensive side and has great court vision.

Tess had to get Sixth Woman of the Final Four. She started early in the year when I watched but moved to the bench. She is an example of making the most of your time and completely changed the game. She didn’t put up a ton of points, but she was a catalyst on offense by finding open players for several assists and picked up some nice offensive rebounds and play saving hustle plays. Somehow, she even got a block on a taller player. Great game by a great kid.

Just in case, we need some defense pulling the sleigh. Roe has shown since she hit high school that she can be one of the best on ball defenders around. She has great defensive vision and very quick hands.

Tessa handled a ton of pressure defense on Saturday and made the right decisions. She is a lights out shooter. I was most impressed that she drilled two 3’s in a row yet didn’t force up the heat check the next trip down the court.

Defense travels ,ay be just a phrase, but I personally believe it to be 100% true. Roe is one of the best perimeter defenders in her class and there aren’t many that can get steals or create turnovers the way she can. Roe can guard top notch talent, and in my opinion, will continue to see the court at the next level for that reason alone.
