, a Maryville (MO) basketball commit, is one of my favorite guards out of this 2024 Class to watch and I can’t wait to see what she brings to the table for her Senior season of High School ball. Whitsitt has a flame thrower for an arm shooting the basketball but she is also very shifty and coordinated off of the dribble, attacking her opponents. When you take these two skills into consideration, I would count Whitsitt as a Combo Guard right now, more than anything else. Her ability on offense speaks for itself and it will translate to the collegiate level in most regards. Decorah High School is going to be looking at Whitsitt to lead their team once again this winter with her elite guard play. She will look replicate what she has done in years past and hope that her team can come together in major moments to secure some meaningful wins this winter. As always, if everyone stresses the little stuff early on in the year, it’ll make a huge difference come Playoff time.

. Whitsitt is a point guard that is extremely shifty and smooth with the ball in her hands. When I saw her for the first time last season at the state tournament she shocked me a with some of the moves she pulled out. Well, she is moving up our list once again from #20 to #16. Whitsitt maybe a little undersized for a division 1 point guard in some people eyes but she is different. She can handle with pressure all the way down the floor, has a nasty cross over with a nice lay up package, can create and distribute to open teammates, and can hold her own in the tough-ness department. When you account for all of that and her ability to control the pace of the game, you start to see a player who could impact a college floor, as soon as she steps on it. Until then, she has unfinished business this winter at the high school level. I’m excited to see how she comes out and plays. With everything she can do, I’m expecting some fireworks.

Shifty combo guard who can play a number of positions on the floor but plays her best when at the 2 or the 3 spot. She has an extremely smooth crossover dribble while being able to get past her defender on a consistent basis. Fundamental and efficient scorer all around. Possesses good amount of strength at her size. Can guard anyone playing the 2-4 position at the moment in high school but in college will have to be sticking to defending the 2-3 spot, depending where she ends up.

did a good job this season of showing off that she is a complete player across the board. She has the ability to score, pass, rebound and defend with the best of them in her class and she was sure to let everyone know that this season on their way to the state tournament in Des Moines. Along with this, Whitsitt is super shifty and quick. Her handle and movement from side to side while dribbling is impressive. She does a great job of creating space and making her opponent off balance as she attacks the hoop on a consistent basis. Going into AAU season and into the fall i’m sure that she is going to be receiving more and more attention from college recruiters with the way she plays on the floor. Something much deserving from a player who consistently has put the work in over her career to get to this point.

has been the consistent scoring threat for the Vikings this season and a big reason for their success. For them to keep this up she is going to have to really turn it on as she is going to be the target of the Bombers defensive game plan in the first round. Whitsitt plays at the shooting guard position with the ability to move around. She is a great scorer, solid rebounder, and good passer so when it’s needed she is able to move to the point guard position or the combo guard spot for her squad. During this run the team is going to really rely on Yazmeen, especially on the offensive side of the floor as after her and their second leading scorer there is a drastic drop off in production. A worry that some may have but not the Vikings as they are going to stick to the game plan that got them here and handle their business.

has been putting in some WORK this season thus far for the Decorah Vikings. Whitsitt, a quick and efficient shooting guard, is averaging 21 PPG on 45% shooting while knocking down 38 of the 91 three pointers that she has attempted this year. Coming out of the break the Vikings are holding at a 9-2 record overall with some big time wins on their resume already from the first half of their season. A big part of this being due to the duo of point guard

, who can really dish it out, and Whitsitt. The combination of the lethal point guard along with a knock down shooter and scorer in Whitsitt has been making a long day for their competition as of late. Coming out of break Whitsitt is sitting third in scored points overall this season in Iowa’s women’s high school basketball and she intends to keep up that pace as the regular season comes to an end and the playoffs begin.

of Decorah High School. Whitsitt, a 5’7 shooting guard, is a much more than just a shooter but an overall play-maker when she steps on the court. She would be categorized as a shooting guard first but doesn’t force shots and has the ability to create for her teammates, leading her to being her teams assist leader in 21′-22′. The versatility she shows when things go wrong give you a really good idea of who she is as a player. Being able to make the right choices at a quick pace, possessing the ability to pass with either hand off the catch or dribble, and being able to communicate with her team vocally is something that not many can make look easy, but Whitsitt does. With two more years of high school ball left and seeing how hard she has worked so far to grow her game, it’ll be interesting where she ends up after her senior season but I can’t wait to find out.
