The Cougars only have one freshman on the roster, and she is leading the way for the Cougars. Jameson Mott (2023) is young but not shy when it comes to putting the ball in the basket and leading her team.
Mott can score from anywhere on the floor and one of her best skills is her ability to shoot the ball. She is one of the top shooters in the state, and as a freshman her ceiling is high. Mott is also extremely efficient when she steps on the floor, and her percentages back that up.
Mott is averaging 13.3 points per game, shooting 50-105 (48 percent) from the field, 30-58 (52 percent) from behind the arc, 80 percent from the free-throw line, and she is a willing passer averaging 3.1 assist per game, which is above average nationwide. Mott is a proven sharpshooter, can attack the rim and finish, shoot in the mid range, and can push the ball in the open court and make the best read for her team.
“Jameson is the type of player a coach dreams of walking into their gym,” Evergreen head coach Massey Hornecker said. “Her ability to attack the basket and shoot with ease gives our team a ton of options offensively. The best quality about Jameson is her work ethic. She is in the gym shooting, dribbling, and working on anything she can every spare minute that she has. She really is a student of the game and I look forward to seeing how that will pay off for her in the future.”
