Some have emerged through excellent freshman campaigns while others are popping up at smaller schools that receive less exposure. Many of them probably should have already been in the rankings to begin with.
If you missed Part 1, check it out here. Here are five more 2023’s who recently entered the PGH Colorado watch list, and where they’re at having just completed their first high school seasons.
[player_tooltip player_id="145423" first="Taleiyah" last="Gibbs"] Taleiyah Gibbs Taleiyah Gibbs 5'11" | PF Mesa Ridge | 2020 SC , 5-11, PF, Mesa Ridge
An incredibly promising young player, Gibbs averaged 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds for Mesa Ridge and was second on the team in both categories. Gibbs also flashed the ability to handle the ball and shoot from the perimeter, which makes her a very exciting player to track as she matures. She’ll be doing that elsewhere, however, as her family has reportedly moved to South Carolina.
Kenlee Durrill Kenlee Durrill 5'10" | PG Flatirons Academy | 2023 State CO , 5-10, SF, Flatirons Academy
Durrill hit the ground running when she arrived in high school. The freshman paced the Flatirons Academy squad with 15.6 points, 3.5 assists and 3.3 steals, all of which were team highs. Already an advanced player for her age with good length and athleticism, Durrill proved herself to be an impact player with a high ceiling after being named CHSAA all state honorable mention in Class 1A.
Kyra Haan Kyra Haan 5'7" | CG Mead | 2023 State CO , 5-5, PG, Mead
The Mavericks finished just below the .500 mark this winter and they have plans to improve upon their 12-13 record in upcoming seasons because of a young core that includes Haan. The Mead freshman played in all 25 of her team’s games and averaged 5.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game in a balanced rotation.
Torrai Logan Torrai Logan 5'7" | SF Sierra | 2023 State CO , 5-7, SF, Mitchell
Logan’s first season in high school was a good one, as she was second on the team and one of the top scoring freshmen in the state with an average of 11.6 points per game. The freshman also put up 7.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks a night for the Marauders, who are understandably excited about her future in the Colorado Springs Metro League.
Megan Majeres Megan Majeres 5'9" | SG Frederick | 2023 State CO , 5-8, SG, Frederick
Majeres was a bright spot for the Frederick girls, who went 6-17 this winter. The freshman led the Warriors with seven points per game and also averaged 2.3 rebounds and an assists a night. The 5-foot-8 shooting guard went 43 for 156 (28 percent) from behind the 3-point line.
