Some are playing on rosters that are loaded with great talented collegiate level prospect players. Let’s take a look at some of the forwards that are in the class of 2023.
Aiyanna Mitchell (Fountain- Fort Carson)
Mitchell only freshman on a very talented roster finishing with a record of 20-3. Mitchell standing at 6-foot-3 will look to add great value to her team as she continues to develop and improve her game. She can be a dominant post player for Fountain- Fort Carson which will be much needed when looking to go deep in the playoffs. Despite only averaging 2.5 points per game, and 2.4 rebounds per game Mitchell has great size, and length in the post
Brooke Murrell Brooke Murrell 6'2" | PF Thomas Jefferson | 2023 State CO (Thomas Jefferson)
Murrell had a great freshman debut averaging a double-double for her team. She has great length standing at 6-foot-1, and does well running the floor. Murrell shows the ability to knock down shots in the midrange. As she continue to expand her range she will be able to stretch the floor, and play inside. She averaged 14.3 points per game, 11.4 rebounds per game, and 1.7 blocks per game. Murrell put up a season high in points with 28, and 19 rebounds midway through the season.
Laci Roffle Laci Roffle 6'0" | SF Eaglecrest | 2023 State CO (Eaglecrest)
Standing at 5-foot-8 Roffle became the second leader scorer on her team with 10.1 points per game. She is versatile with the ability to play an inside out game. Playing on team with five seniors Roffle had an opportunity to learn from her teammates to develop her game. She also averaged 4.6 rebounds per game, and 2.5 steals per game. Roffle put up a season high in points scoring 18 three times.
Abby Saville Abby Saville 5'9" | PF Rocky Mountain | 2023 State CO (Rocky Mountain)
Standing at 5-foot-9 Saville has good foot speed, and anticipates well getting her hands on steals or deflection. She averaged 6.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game. Saville shows some signs of being able to push the ball in transition, and running the floor. She scored a season high in points with 15 against Broomfield midway in the season. Saville is also a player that can play on the defensive end, moving her feet well keeping her opponents in front to force turnovers.
Miranda Wiedeman Miranda Wiedeman 5'10" | PF University | 2023 State CO (University)
Playing on a team that won league champs with a record of 10-0, and 22-3 overall Wiedeman averaged 6.8 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game, and 1.8 steals per game. She has a good feel for the game on both ends of the floor. Standing at 5-foot-10 she shows the ability to make smart decision on the floor, and anticipate passes. Wiedeman scored a season high in point with 13, and a season high in rebounds with 12. As she continues to improve and develop her game she will be a crucial player for University.
