It may take them some time to adjust to the speed and physicality of high school play, but they will be special players who we will be keeping an eye on.
If you missed Part 1, check it out here. Let’s take a look at some more impact in the incoming Class of 2024.
Hannah Somorin (Ralston Valley)
Somorin brings a lot of energy with her effort at both ends of the floor. She is an able defender, moving her feet well and staying in front while forcing turnovers. Somorin also is an unselfish player, something that can get her teammates going. A willing shooter who is working to improve her range and a player who will be a threat in the open floor, Somorin can make an impact on a strong Ralston Valley roster as she continues to develop and improve her game.
AJ Mannering (Peyton)
Mannering is a player with great change of pace to her game. She does well handling pressure and can score in a variety of ways. One skill set she has that will make her a tough guard is her ability to shoot the ball and score in a the half court set. Mannering has a good feel for the game and a good basketball IQ. She will add a lot of value to the Peyton squad next year now that her older sister has graduated following a good career at Peyton.
Hannah Belibi (Regis Jesuit)
When you hear the name Belibi, the entire country’s eyes open wide. The younger sister of Francesca Belibi, a McDonalds All-American and Slam Dunk champion in 2019, Belibi will look to make an impact on the Regis Jesuit roster. Belibi has tremendous upside to her game and has a great physical presence coming in as a freshman. As she continues to improve her game and develop, she has the potential to be a dominant player at both ends of the floor.
Kiera Kayser-Cochran (ThunderRidge)
Kayser-Cochran is a tough competitor who loves to compete at the highest level. She is a physical post player and can score well inside the paint. Kayser-Cochran also shows the ability to knock down shots from the outside with good shooting form and will be a tough matchup because of her ability to play anywhere on the floor. She is a player who can make an immediate impact on her new team’s roster this coming season.
Kinsey Trujillo (Frederick)
Trujillo is a dynamic guard at both ends of the floor and she has the ability to bring the energy and set the tone on defense. Trujillo has a high motor, making her opponents uncomfortable and generating steals or forcing turnovers. She is a relentless rim attacker, creating opportunities for herself and teammates, and Frederick will have a player next year who will bring 100-percent effort when she steps on the floor and a player who can score in bunches. As she continues to develop her game, Trujillo will make an impact for her Warriors team.
